Nomad Stay Hostel & Co-working
Nomad Stay Hostel & Co-working is a small, characterful hostel situated in Chaweng, one of Koh Samui's most convenient and well-connected neighbourhoods. What consistently sets it apart from comparable accommodation on the island is the owner, whose attentiveness and genuine warmth are a recurring theme across visitor accounts. Guests describe feeling genuinely looked after from arrival, with the host going out of her way to help travellers settle in, suggest local activities, and create a welcoming atmosphere that is harder to find in larger or more impersonal properties. The hostel offers both dormitory-style accommodation and private rooms, making it suitable for solo travellers as well as those who prefer a little more space. Beds are notably large and comfortable by hostel standards. The addition of a co-working space makes this a practical choice for digital nomads or longer-stay travellers who need a reliable place to work. The overall atmosphere leans toward calm and community rather than party hostel energy, which suits those looking to slow down and settle in. Practically speaking, this hostel appeals especially to solo travellers and those planning extended stays of a week or more. Guests have noted that some rooms could benefit from additional storage, so packing light or bringing a few organisational items such as packing cubes is worth considering. As a smaller, independently run property, availability may be limited during peak season, so booking in advance is advisable.

Visitor Reviews
I stayed here as a solo traveler for three weeks. The female owner is truly lovely, caring, and considerate. When I arrived, I was feeling very overwhelmed and just needed a place to be alone, focus on my work, and take care of my well-being – this accommodation offered exactly that, even though it’s a hostel. I really liked that the hostel isn’t located right on the party streets (but you can easily and cheaply reach them by scooter or taxi). The place provided both peace and privacy, yet also the chance to meet other travelers if you feel like having company to chat with or explore the area together. It had everything needed for cooking and storing your own food and drinks. It was a very nice hostel and, during my stay, it didn’t have the usual ‘party hostel’ vibe — no drunken chaos or anything like that. It was peaceful, more like a place to actually live and relax. The cleanliness was also maintained very well. I can warmly recommend this place — I stayed in the women’s dorm (separate floor from the mixed one) and really enjoyed my time there! I especially recommend it for longer stays. Thank you and see you later again
It's a nice hostel with a private room available. That's exactly where we stayed. The room itself needs some improvement. Some shelves or rails on a wall would greatly help with hanging clothes. But it was good enough to spend several days in Samui, since we didn't sit in a room all day long anyway. I liked that they have a fridge and a kitchen space downstairs, and there's hot water in the shower. The owner and the maid are really nice, and doing their best to deliver good service for their guests. They helped to find a bike to rent and with other things. The location is in the heart of Chaweng, so all the restaurants, bars, coffee shops and the beach are just basically behind the corner.
Super hostel, perfectly located on Chaweng The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming — she really does everything she can to make everyone feel comfortable, and can even suggest activities to do around. The common areas and dorms are clean and well air-conditioned. There are several spaces, including coworking areas and balconies spot. There’s a kitchen and free coffee available (which is quite rare for hostels in Thailand) Highly recommended!
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
