If your idea of Koh Chang involves a lot of lying still, this one makes sense. It sits right on Klong Prao Beach, one of the island's longer and quieter stretches, and the rooms are modern rather than rustic bamboo. Some open straight onto the pool, which is the option I'd push for if you're traveling with someone who swims before breakfast. There's a restaurant, a bar and a spa on site, so it's entirely possible to arrive, unpack and not use a taxi until checkout.

Don't come here for nightlife. The mood is quiet, couple-heavy, and the beach out front isn't a party beach. That's the appeal, but it's worth knowing before you book. If you want bars and noise you'll be riding a songthaew north to Lonely Beach and back, which gets old.
