Chiangrung Park
Chiangrung Park is a Nordic-inspired resort and tourist attraction set among the fields and forests of Wiang Chiang Rung district, roughly 30 kilometres from central Chiang Rai. Drawing on European architectural influences, the property offers a distinctive aesthetic that feels unusual for northern Thailand — warm timber tones, mountain views, and a quietly forested setting that provides genuine escape from busier tourist areas.
Guests can explore grounds that include scenic lakes, resident wildlife such as peacocks, swans, deer, and ducks, making it a popular choice for families. Accommodation receives consistent praise from visitors, with rooms noted for their quality and the surrounding lakeside scenery described as a particular highlight. The on-site restaurant serves food in a relaxed setting, though reviews on the dining experience are mixed — some visitors find it good value while others note inconsistencies in food quality, so it may be worth managing expectations or exploring dining options nearby.
Chiangrung Park functions as both a day-visit attraction and an overnight stay, and the combination of resort lodging, café, and restaurant means it suits travellers looking for a self-contained rural retreat. Given the remote location in Tambon Dong Mahawan, visitors are advised to arrange private transport, as public connections to the area are limited. Arriving on a weekday is likely to offer a quieter experience.

Wonderful location in the middle of Chiang Rai fields. Super quiet, friendly staff, good food at the restaurant. They have fawns, swans peacocks, ducks and others birds. Recommended for families or couples who wanna relax. Suggestion: Bring mosquito repellent and do not turn on the lights of the front door during the night.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Popular Activities Online
Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
