Agence francophone The wonders of Chiang Rai Tours
Based in Chiang Rai, this francophone tour agency specialises in guiding French-speaking travellers through the region's lesser-known landscapes and cultural gems. Led by Gaëtan, the agency takes a distinctly personal approach to exploration — steering visitors away from crowded tourist circuits and toward the authentic, quieter side of northern Thailand. Excursions cover terrain such as the Chiang Rai mountains and the Golden Triangle, with itineraries designed to surprise and immerse rather than simply tick boxes. Visitors can expect attentive, warm guides who bring genuine enthusiasm and local knowledge to every outing. Reviewers consistently highlight the quality of the organisation, the character of the guides, and the sense that each tour feels tailored rather than generic. Trekking experiences in particular receive strong praise, with guides noted for being both knowledgeable and personable. The agency operates seven days a week, from 09:00 to 18:30 on weekdays and Saturdays, and until 19:00 on Sundays. For practical planning, the agency's website at chiangrai-wonders.com is the recommended starting point for reviewing available tours and making contact. Given the personalised nature of the tours, booking in advance is advisable, especially during peak travel seasons. This agency is particularly well-suited to French-speaking travellers who want a deeper, more meaningful experience of Chiang Rai beyond the standard highlights.

Visitor Reviews
If you're looking to trek in the area, this is the place to go! Everything was absolutely fantastic: the organization, the guides (who were hilarious!), they were attentive, and ours, at least, took the time to share his knowledge of nature. The night in the Lahu village was also amazing; it was a real immersion in their culture. And honestly, the food was incredible!! Thank you so much, if I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely come back here! As for the trek's difficulty, I'd say it's moderate. Yes, there are some climbs and sections where the paths become less than ideal (but that's part of the magic of trekking), but there are plenty of breaks to relax and rest. Go for it without hesitation. Thank you for everything, Thor, and also Addy and Gaetan.
We took two excursions to Chiang Rai which were fantastic. We had a French-speaking guide and her driver who were wonderful, warm, and exceptionally kind. Gaëtan, our contact person, was equally fantastic; he responded very quickly, even late at night, and clearly explained how everything would go. I recommend them 1000%!
Excellent day! We chose the Chiang Rai mountains and the Golden Triangle. It's fantastic, far from the tourists and the classics. The activity is varied, full of discoveries and surprises, nothing to complain about. I definitely recommend this activity with Gaetan. A big thank you!
