Prasat Hin Phanom Wan

Prasat Hin Phanom Wan is a centuries-old Khmer stone sanctuary located on the outskirts of Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), offering a quieter and less commercialized alternative to more famous Khmer sites in the region. Built during the Angkor period, the complex features standing prangs (tower-pagodas), intricate stone carvings, and the remnants of a surrounding moat that hint at the site's original scale and ceremonial importance. Unlike many archaeological sites, it remains an active place of worship, where a gilded Buddha statue presides over a space that blends historical significance with living religious practice.

Visitors can expect a contemplative atmosphere, with the aged sandstone structures creating a striking contrast against open skies.
