Rabiangsuan Restaurant
Set alongside a lotus flower lake in the Ao Nang area of Krabi, this tucked-away restaurant offers a noticeably more serene and scenic setting than the busier beachfront dining strips nearby. The peaceful lakeside atmosphere is a genuine draw, and the restaurant tends to attract visitors who discover it through word of mouth or independent searching rather than passing foot traffic. The menu leans into authentically spiced southern Thai cooking, with standout dishes including Tom Kha, duck with omelette, curries, and pad Thai. Prices are generally lower than beachfront competitors, making it a practical choice for travellers watching their budget without wanting to compromise on flavour. Seafood is also on offer, though some visitors have noted inconsistency in freshness, so cooked meat and curry dishes may be the safer bet. Good to know: The restaurant is open every day from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, giving flexibility for both lunch and dinner visits. Service can be slow during busier periods, and English-language communication may be limited, so patience is helpful. There is no website, so arriving in person is the only option. Those relying on a sat-nav or maps app should note that the location is not immediately obvious from the main road, so allow a little extra time to find it.

Visitor Reviews
We found this tucked away restaurant through a Google search and were thrilled with it. The prices are a bit lower than the beachfront spots, and the food is authentically southern Thai deliciously spicy. We also enjoyed a lovely seating area by a stream with large fish, but be prepared for some mosquitoes as evening sets in. We even made a new friend who kept us company the whole time we were there!
very good food.Today is Thailand children day with Free ice cream for each children
Cool interior and some of the food was outstanding, such as the duck dish with omelette, curries, and pad Thai. Some of the seafood didn’t seem entirely fresh though. Bit of slow service but other than that, nice place for sure.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
