Charcoal & Spice
Tucked along an unnamed road in the Nong Thale area of Mueang Krabi, this restaurant has built a strong following among both travellers and locals for its charcoal-grilled meats and spice-forward cooking. The menu leans toward bold, smoky flavours with a distinctly local touch, and the beef brisket in particular draws praise from visitors who know their barbecue. Beyond the grill, dishes like Pad Thai round out a menu that balances international influences with Thai culinary character. The atmosphere skews casual and relaxed, with live music adding to the mood on occasion, and the setting delivers genuine sunset views for those who arrive in the early evening. The restaurant operates seven days a week from 8am to 9pm, making it flexible enough for an early lunch or a leisurely dinner. The kitchen suits a range of occasions, from birthday celebrations to impromptu stops after spotting the sign roadside, and the staff are consistently noted for their friendly service. Cocktails, including mojitos, are available for those wanting a drink before or alongside their meal. Because the address sits on an unnamed road, visitors should use a maps application or the restaurant's website to navigate accurately before setting out. Arriving between mid-afternoon and early evening tends to offer a quieter experience and the best chance of catching the sunset. Checking the website ahead of time is worthwhile if you have specific dietary needs or want to confirm the current menu.

Visitor Reviews
We booked a table for Valentine’s Day after randomly spotting the sign on the road - and we’re so glad we did! We were absolutely impressed. The meat was unbelievably tender. 🤤 The food was incredibly delicious, the staff were beyond kind and welcoming, and the location is just perfect — slightly tucked away, very peaceful. That quiet atmosphere made the whole experience even more special.
Am just surfing the map looking for a place to have lunch for my wife's birthday and I came across this place on the map. Absolutely fantastic food. 5 star Delicious with a local touch. We ordered a lot for two people. The ambiance and atmosphere is beautiful. I highly recommend it for you to try. We'll comeback again and with friends next time.
Followed this place on the reviews and wasn’t disappointed! We used to live in Texas and wanted to try their beef brisket. It was sooo good, even better than some restaurants in Texas! The atmosphere of the restaurant is also amazing, peaceful and relaxing. Definitely going back!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
