Phuket Kata Resotel
Compare prices
Situated on the main road in Kata, this resort hotel places guests within a five-minute walk of Kata Beach, with easy access to the area's shops, restaurants, and attractions. The property features four outdoor pools, a swim-up bar, and a casual on-site eatery, making it a straightforward base for those focused on spending time in and around the water. Rooms are described by guests as spacious, and housekeeping maintains fresh towels daily. That said, travellers should go in with realistic expectations. Reviewers note that the property is showing its age and would benefit from renovation — a point that has been raised consistently over several years without significant change. The breakfast buffet receives mixed feedback, with some guests reporting that popular items run out and are not refilled, so arriving early is advisable. Front desk experiences have also varied, with some guests reporting unhelpful service. Practical considerations are worth keeping in mind before booking. Soundproofing between rooms is reportedly poor, which can be an issue if noise sensitivity matters. Early risers or light sleepers should also note that cleaning activity outside rooms often begins around 6am. The resort suits budget-conscious travellers who prioritise location and pool access over polish, and who are happy to explore Kata's wider dining scene rather than relying heavily on the in-house food offering.

Visitor Reviews
This place is located on the main road in Kata. The rooms and swimming pool are well maintained. The breakfast buffet was decent as well. Overall, it’s a good place to stay.
Breakfast wasn’t great, room was spacious. Had fresh towels everyday. At 6am every morning you will hear sweeping/ cleaning outside your room which can wake you up.
Stayed: 15–25 August The hotel is very old and really needs renovation. Guests have been writing about this for years, but nothing has changed. Location is good, everything is close by, but the entrance to the hotel is not attractive. 3/5 There is no real gym, only some old and broken equipment near reception. In this hot weather, nobody will use it anyway. 3/5 The hotel has two pools, they are clean and well-maintained, but the pool bar has been closed for a long time. No entertainment in the hotel. 3/5 Rooms are cleaned every day, even if you don’t want it. Housekeeping knocks loudly even with a “SLEEPing” sign. And can enter in after a one knock. Management should fix this. Rooms have Wi-Fi, safe, fridge, aircon, TV, shower, etc. 3/5 Staff at reception are very nice and helpful. 5/5 Cafe is open for breakfast only. Breakfast is average. 3/5 Overall: This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. Needs renovation and better service for the price.
