Bhundhari Resort & Villas Samui
Compare prices
Set in the quieter Bo Put area of Koh Samui's north shore, this property operates as a mix of resort accommodation and villa-style lodging, and also functions as a wedding venue, spa, and bar. It occupies a beachfront position away from the island's busier tourist strips, which suits travellers looking for a slower pace rather than proximity to nightlife. Prospective guests should approach with realistic expectations. Recent visitor reviews raise consistent concerns worth noting before booking: reports of brown water from bathtubs, limited breakfast variety, and a hotel restaurant that closes as early as 5pm have appeared across multiple stays. Some reviewers also note a discrepancy between promotional imagery and the current condition of the property. On a more positive note, some guests have found the traditional Thai atmosphere and villa-style rooms appealing, particularly those who booked through third-party platforms and communicated directly with the host. For practical planning, the cool and dry season running from November to February generally offers the best weather on Koh Samui's north coast. Given the limited on-site dining options and early restaurant closing times, it is worth identifying nearby Bo Put restaurants and arranging reliable transport before arrival if you plan to explore the wider island. Checking current room availability and condition directly through the resort's website or your chosen booking platform is advisable before confirming a reservation.

Visitor Reviews
We booked through Airbnb and the host was responsive to our questions and needs. Note that this place was previously a hotel but has been revamped to be more of an “Airbnb” style. The rooms are nicely decorated and in the traditional style but there’s a bit of dust/stain around the room and bathroom. The location is also quite far from most things (def need a bike or grab to places) and the steep hill is BRUTAL. Luckily they offer a golf cart service for free between 1-9pm. But the views are stunning! 🌅
The villa had a traditional Thai atmosphere, and the bed was very comfortable. As for the bathroom, when I filled the bathtub with hot water, the water was brown. Caution is needed when using the water. Regarding the pool, it was not cleaned, and debris was floating on the surface in all of the pools. The same situation was found the following morning as well. Overall, I think it is a hotel with a nice atmosphere, but I believe there are issues with its management. I would not stay here again.
We stayed here for 2 nights. Experience was okay. The tap of bath tub doesn’t work. The water is brown. The hotel restaurant closes at 5 pm. There is hardly any option/ variety in breakfast. More like a b&b stay.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
