Baan Thai Spa
Tucked away in the Taling Ngam area of Koh Samui, Baan Thai Spa is a wellness retreat that has built a strong reputation for personalised, attentive service and skilled therapeutic treatments. The spa draws visitors seeking both relaxation and genuine therapeutic benefit, with therapists noted for their expertise across a range of techniques including traditional dry massage, oil massage, and multi-hour heritage Samui packages. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried, with guests welcomed on arrival with cold beverages and herbal teas that set the tone for the experience. Treatment rooms are described as beautiful and well-appointed, and the spa is a popular choice for couples, with staff known to go the extra mile for special occasions such as anniversaries. The three to four hour heritage Samui massage package is a standout offering for those wanting a more immersive experience. Practically speaking, Baan Thai Spa is located at 295 Taling Ngam, which sits on the quieter western side of Koh Samui, making it a good option for travellers staying outside the busier northern and eastern resort areas. Opening hours and pricing are not listed online, so it is worth contacting the spa directly to confirm availability and book in advance, particularly for couples or extended packages during peak holiday periods.

Visitor Reviews
Had a really lovely 90min massage (de-stress with both dry and oil technique) for my back, with Koy. Coming to the Spa I was met professionally and warmly and offered a cold beverage. The treatment room was so comfortable, big with a private bathroom for changing, and toilet (and a shower). The massage itself was lovely and a combination of Thai and traditional techniques. Afterwards I got some hot tea in the spa lobby with rice cakes. Over all a lovely experience and I’ll be back for another massage soon!
This was the best spa experience my wife has ever had. She said the facilities were beautiful, the atmosphere was so relaxing and the therapist was exceptional. Highly recommend indulging in these wonderful spa treatments; a luxury experience not to be missed! Thank you, Intercontinental Koh Samui.
My partner and I were treated to an exceptional three hour package by Joy and Koy. I highly recommend indulging in a 3-4 hour heritage Samui massage if you want to experience next level pampering. This is a no brainer if you're staying at the intercontinental.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
