Wat Sra Sri

Wat Sra Sri is one of the most visually striking temple complexes within Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves the ruins of Thailand's first kingdom. The temple sits on an island surrounded by a tranquil lotus pond, accessed via a traditional bridge, and centers on a well-preserved Sri Lankan-style chedi and a principal Buddha image that gazes serenely across the water. The combination of ancient stonework, reflecting ponds, and surrounding greenery makes it a place of quiet contemplation as much as historical interest.
