Wat Saphan Hin

Set within the Sukhothai Historical Park, Wat Saphan Hin is a hilltop temple ruin that dates back to the Sukhothai Kingdom and remains one of the more atmospheric sites in the broader park complex. The name translates roughly to "Stone Bridge Temple," a reference to the original slate-paved pathway that once led pilgrims up the hill. At the summit stands a commanding 12-meter-tall standing Buddha, known as Phra Attharot, surrounded by the weathered columns and foundation stones of the original temple structure. The elevated position offers open views across the surrounding plains and forest, adding to the sense of quiet reverence that defines the site.

Visitors can expect a more peaceful and less crowded experience here compared to the central zone of the historical park, making it well suited to those looking to explore at a slower pace.
