Bucha Gallery and Restaurant
Tucked into the Chalong area of southern Phuket, this distinctive venue combines a working art gallery with a full-service restaurant, creating a dining experience that rewards guests who take the time to look around as well as eat. The space is designed with authentic yet contemporary decor that draws genuine admiration from visitors, and the chef has been known to come out personally to greet tables — a detail that speaks to the level of care invested in the overall experience. The menu leans into bold Thai flavours, with standout dishes that bring diners back repeatedly. Highlights mentioned by visitors include the lamb, the grandmother's red sauce chicken thighs, crab curry, and southern wrap appetisers. The kitchen handles both Thai classics and grilled proteins with confidence, and presentation is consistently noted as a strength. Service is warm and attentive, with staff who make guests feel welcomed rather than hurried. Good to know: Bucha Gallery and Restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and is closed on Mondays. It suits both lunch and dinner visits equally well. Given the level of detail put into the space, arriving earlier in the evening allows more time to take in the surroundings at a relaxed pace. Absolutely incredible. Definitely eat here!!!!! Our food was insane, we got the crab curry, and the southern wrap appetisers, both were delicious! For our mains we got the steak (which was cooked perfectly, exactly to my liking, I ordered it medium rare), and chicken massaman curry, the chicken just fell of the bone!! Our food was all so tasty. I think the service is the best I have ever had in a restaurant. So attentive. Pin, Fah, Preaw were amazing, so lovely and checked up on us a lot throughout our meal to make sure we were enjoying it. AND I got a lovely mocktail, it was perfect and presented beautifully everything was presented beautifully!!
Literally one of the best restaurant experiences I have had. My wife and I came back to Bucha four times whilst our stay in Phuket. I recommend the lamb and the grandmothers red sauce chicken thighs. Very unique delicious food with rich well balanced flavours. 10/10. The seating is very comfortable and spacious, the lighting is soft and gentle very comforting and the music level is perfect and not too loud. The staff are very friendly, highly attentive and professional. Thank you so much Pin, Fah and Army. You guys were amazing, we really appreciate your hospitality. I highly recommend Bucha it's excellent 👌
So far, this has been my best Thai restaurant experience. I truly appreciate the professionalism of the service — the team is always attentive and welcoming. The food is consistently delicious. I have never had a bad experience here; every dish I’ve tried has been full of flavor and beautifully presented. A special thank you to the chef for the outstanding cuisine, and to the owner for being so attentive and taking such great care of the guests.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
