Yellow Sun
Yellow Sun has carved out a reputation as one of the liveliest spots on Pai's Walking Street, drawing a mixed crowd of backpackers and travellers looking for a night that goes beyond just a quiet drink. Unlike many of the town's more low-key venues, this bar brings a DJ most nights, giving it a distinctly energetic edge and a dancefloor atmosphere that keeps people coming back after the rest of Pai has wound down. Inside, visitors can expect a relaxed but buzzing space decorated with art across the walls, a pool table for those who want something more casual, and bartenders who reportedly take the time to engage with the people they're serving. The music shifts depending on the night, which means the experience can vary — some visits are lively and social, others more mellow. Drinks are priced at the budget end of the scale, keeping it accessible for travellers watching their spending. Good to know: Yellow Sun really comes alive late — many visitors arrive around midnight, particularly after activities like Pai's popular tipsy tubing. It's worth noting that a small number of reviews have flagged concerns about staff conduct, so it pays to go with a group if you're travelling solo. As specific opening hours aren't listed, checking locally or asking at your accommodation before heading out is advisable, especially outside peak season when hours can be unpredictable.

Visitor Reviews
best bar in pai!!! out of all the bars around walking street this is the one. really good service (the guys working there are so chill and nice), the type of music changes depends on the night and theres a bunch of tables to sit around and chill. the only minus would be the toilets (but what can you expect from a bar) and that people dont really get up to dance there, but do whatever you want nobody really cares
Great place to hang out at night. We arrived early, around 11 pm. Chill vibes with great music and a DJ, unlike other places we visited where there was no DJ. We were looking for a place to dance, and at other venues with live music the atmosphere was more relaxed and not really for dancing. The staff and the owner were very kind and attentive.
We came here around midnight after the pai tipsy tubing. Such a great vibe! Everyone was dancing and dj was really great! There’s a pool table too and lovely art all over the walls.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
