Reggae Pai
A staple of Pai's laid-back nightlife scene, this reggae bar doubles as a live music venue where local bands perform regularly to an enthusiastic crowd of backpackers and travellers. The house band draws particular praise from visitors, with the performances creating a communal atmosphere of singing and dancing that draws people in off the street. Drinks are notably affordable even by Thai standards, with soft drinks around 40 baht and beers around 100 baht, making it an easy place to settle in for the evening. The vibe is casual and sociable, anchored by a welcoming owner who has a talent for making strangers feel at home. The bar attracts a young, international crowd — often groups spilling out from nearby hostels — and has the kind of easy energy where solo travellers tend to find company quickly. A resident bar dog adds to the relaxed, unpretentious character of the place. Good to know: Reggae Pai is a bar and live music venue, not a nightclub, so the experience centres on the bands and conversation rather than a dance floor. Dress code is entirely casual. Given Pai's small-town setting, this is one of the more lively spots in the area on nights when bands are performing — arriving earlier helps secure a good spot before it fills up. Check locally on arrival for current performance nights, as no official website or posted hours are available.

Visitor Reviews
This was an experience after the band finished playing which I got to be a part of for 10 minutes, so fun, me and my friends were invited to hangout then the next day early afternoon we passed by and was given some raw cow tongue was scared to try but they had this super spicy sauce it was so good. An experience💯👍🏾✨
I came here last night with friends from my hostel & we had so much fun! We watched, sang & danced to 2 bands that were performing. I paid around 40 baht for a coke & a beer was around 100 baht. The staff were super fun. Only thing I would say is bring some toilet roll if you need it. Oh & they have sweetest dog 😍
Awesome spot. Local bartenders are amazing. Super cute bar doggo that loves pats. Awesome spot to chill. The new owner makes everyone feels so welcome and is the most extroverted entertaining bartender I have ever met.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
