Samsara Cocktail Bar & Lounge
Tucked into the Lamai strip on Koh Samui, Samsara Cocktail Bar and Lounge draws a relaxed crowd with its laid-back atmosphere and well-crafted cocktails. The space carries a clean, polished aesthetic that feels a step above the typical beach bar, with visitors frequently noting its luxurious look at surprisingly accessible prices. Whether the aim is a quiet drink or a livelier evening, the bar strikes a comfortable balance between both. Beyond the drinks menu, Samsara offers a solid pool table that gets consistent praise, making it a natural spot to settle in for a few hours rather than just a quick stop. The venue also screens UFC fights and other sporting events, giving it a social edge for those who want a bit of action alongside their evening. Staff members, mentioned by name in multiple reviews, are credited with much of the bar's warm, welcoming feel. For travellers staying in the Lamai area, Samsara works well as a neighbourhood local rather than a destination that requires planning ahead. It suits solo travellers happy to shoot pool and meet people, as well as small groups looking for good cocktails in a comfortable setting. Given the informal, come-as-you-are vibe, dress codes are unlikely to be a concern. Opening hours are not confirmed online, so arriving in the early evening is a sensible approach to avoid a wasted trip.

Visitor Reviews
One of the chillest spots around! Great vibes, cool people, and always something going on. You can shoot some pool (I play it pretty well myself 😉), watch UFC fights, or just relax with a drink and a smoke. The staff are friendly, the drinks are strong, and the crowd is always fun. Perfect place to hang out, meet new people, and enjoy the night.

First time here. The shop is clean, beautiful, luxurious, and looks expensive. The cocktails are very delicious.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
