Poo Dam Night Market
Located on Thanon Utarakit in Pak Nam, Poo Dam Night Market is a well-regarded evening destination in Krabi town, drawing both locals and travellers with its wide and eclectic selection of food stalls. The market covers a sizeable area and offers a genuinely diverse range of options, from Thai noodles and fried snacks to sushi, kebabs, burgers, waffles, mochi, fresh and dried fruits, pastries, and ice cream — making it easy to graze across multiple cuisines in a single visit. Among the standout offerings are a vegetarian food stall near the market entrance, noted for deep-fried jay dishes including corn cakes and Chinese chive dumplings, and a small stall run by an older couple serving a short menu of vegetarian noodle dishes, including a red peanut noodle that has left a strong impression on many visitors. The overall quality of food is consistently noted as good, with the variety being a particular draw for repeat visitors staying in the area. As a night market, Poo Dam operates in the evening hours, making it a natural stop after a day of sightseeing in Krabi. Those with dietary preferences — including vegetarian and vegan diets — will find dedicated options here, which is not always guaranteed at similar markets in the region. Arriving with an appetite and a willingness to explore the stalls is the best approach, as the selection rewards those who take their time browsing before committing to a plate.

Visitor Reviews
An old couple serves vegetarian food here. They offer three noodle dishes and each one tastes outstanding. The red peanut dish stands out and tastes unforgettable. This is the best food I have ever eaten and I will remember this feeling for the rest of my life. The owner cooks like a magician and also talks with you and asks genuine questions. I wish he cooked in my country. Everyone there should try their food!!
Interesting night market. At the front of the market on the river side On the left corner is a vegan (เจ) food stall. You can buy deep fried vegan (Jay เจ) food (corn cakes, Chinese chive dumplings, spring rolls, tofu) B10 a piece and also various ready cooked fried noodle dishes @B50 a portion.
I have visited this night market few times during my stay in Krabi, trying different types of food. The variety what you can buy and eat is great. And I think quality of food is good too. Some surprises as well, like avocado shake I bought, it turned out to be sweet. Overall great experience
Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
