Mega Plaza Saphan Lek
Mega Plaza Saphan Lek is a shopping mall in Bangkok's Phra Nakhon district that has earned a devoted following among collectors, hobbyists, and pop culture enthusiasts. Rather than a conventional retail centre, it specialises almost entirely in toys, action figures, anime merchandise, model kits, building blocks, and collectibles — spanning everything from Hot Toys and Pop Mart releases to retro gaming accessories and vintage items from decades past. Visitors regularly compare the experience to dedicated collector destinations in Japan, noting the impressive depth and variety available across multiple floors of specialist shops. The atmosphere is energetic and tightly packed, with individual vendors and stores catering to niche interests alongside more general hobby retailers. Shoppers can find both new and second-hand items, making it equally rewarding for serious collectors hunting specific pieces and casual browsers revisiting childhood favourites. Staff at individual stalls are noted for being approachable and knowledgeable about their stock. Good to know: The mall sits on Maha Chai Road near the Chao Phraya River, in a traditional neighbourhood that is well-connected by public transport from central Bangkok. Visiting during the morning or early afternoon is advisable, as the area gets busy and warm later in the day. Given the dense, indoor layout, comfortable footwear is recommended, particularly if planning to spend time exploring the surrounding streets afterward.

Visitor Reviews
If you’re into action figures, anime, Hot Wheels, or literally anything from the world of cartoons and cinema, Mega Plaza Saphan Lek is your place. It’s like walking into every childhood fantasy at once. I picked up a bunch of Hot Wheels, some cool GTX car models, and even Harry Potter collectibles. You’ll find stuff here that’s hard to spot anywhere else like full collections, rare editions, and shelves packed with nostalgia. There are also a few small cafés inside, so you can take a break between shopping. It’s fun, chaotic in a good way, and a dreamland for kids and collectors alike.
I absolutely loved this place. Mostly figures, building blocks and toys (used and new) but you can also find some retro and newer games. I liked this place even more than Nakano Broadway in Japan mostly because of things you cannot easily find in Japan like a broad selection of Blokees or alternative Legos that you may have never even heard of. Really great place to go if you are into these kind of stuff.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
