Compare prices
Suneta Hostel sits on Chang Moi Kao Road in central Chiang Mai, making it a practical and characterful base for exploring the city. The building carries a warm, down-to-earth aesthetic with wooden-style interiors that give it a cozy, welcoming feel. Accommodation options include mixed-gender and female-only dormitories alongside casual private rooms, catering to solo travellers, pairs, and those who prefer a little more privacy. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and a simple breakfast featuring eggs, bread, and light bites is included for guests. The hostel earns consistent praise for its location, with guests noting it offers easy access to most parts of Chiang Mai. The front desk staff are frequently highlighted as approachable and helpful, happy to answer questions and assist with local guidance. Private rooms are compact, so travellers seeking extra space should keep that in mind, and the building has no elevator, which is worth noting for those with heavy luggage or mobility considerations. On the practical side, prospective guests should be aware that cleanliness standards have occasionally been flagged in reviews, particularly regarding air conditioning units and bathrooms, so it is worth checking recent feedback before booking. That said, the combination of central location, friendly service, and competitive value makes this hostel a solid choice for budget-conscious travellers passing through Chiang Mai who prioritise atmosphere and convenience over luxury amenities.

Visitor Reviews
Overall, I like the experience of staying here, I would rate this hostel 4.5 star comparing to those hostels I’ve stayed. Things I like: 1)location is unbeatable, it’s easy to get to almost anywhere around, even by walk. 2)atmosphere and design is some kind of industrial vintage design, which feels like my home. 3)the staff at check out and during stay were friendly, even answers my questions about the window( as I have some issues at home and my window looks similar to theirs) 4)you can keep using the bathroom for shower after check out, what’s more is that they can offer you new towels if you need that. I’ve stayed in some hostels they asked you to keep the towels yourself and only to return when you really have to leave them. Some don’t even offer this service, but they made this service to a next level: you return the old towel at check out and if you need one more for shower after checkout, you may have a new one! I was surprised this is, though I then moved my things to my friends hotel, so I didn’t use this service, but I’m impressed when I asked them during my stay. 5)they offer made to order eggs with many styles, I workout a lot and need to regularly have some eggs and protein so it’s good for me to order more than one egg( though I was a bit shy to ask more then 4), they also offer whole wheat toast and fresh fruits. 6)looks like they are trying to build a small gym, I’d appreciate more simple equipment or a yoga mat to do some simple exercise on it Things could be better: 1)the staff I met upon arrival was a bit cold when I arrived a bit early, but it was just fine, not bad attitude at all. 2)people seems to a bit shy or didn’t see people mingle at the lobby, mostly just people be alone themselves or with friends, but I did talk to some people and they are friendly. Maybe because they offer single room or private room, so people who choose these kind of rooms are more likely to be independent( I choose single room as well) 3)the single room is way smaller than I expected from the picture I saw, if you have bags or luggage, you might have difficulty moving in the room. But it’s ok for just few days stay. Or maybe put things that you won’t use in the storage room might help this situation better. 4)I’d appreciate the last breakfast time to be 10:30am rather than 10:00, as I always got up a bit late and had the last few pieces… but it’s not a big issue. Overall, I would like to stay here again next time I back to this lovely city. I love Chiang Mai so much and every time I come back, it inspires me with its creativity and people are always friendly here.
My over all experience in Suneta Hostel was amazing and commendable. Kudos to the management team Credits to Ms May the Indian girl who was approacable she guided me and answered all my quiries inside the hostel. The room was clean, security all over the place, theres CCTV all over the place The breakfast was superb! great breakfast Credits also to Ms Momo and Jay a local thai staff in the hostel. Jay assisted me in the check in at 2:00 in the morning (24/7 lobby desk) Ms momo who helped me booked my tour. It was a great experience to stay here in SUNETA hostel, truly recommendable! Thank you
Hostel is look nice, location good 👍 and cat so cute 🥰 However, the cleanliness was poor. The air conditioner fan and the bathroom weren't very clean. The shower head was broken and hadn't been replaced, and the refrigerator had a thick layer of ice.
