Hang Nak Peak
Hang Nak Peak is a jungle hiking trail and observation point located in the Nong Thale area of Mueang Krabi District, offering sweeping panoramic views over the Krabi region as a payoff for the climb. The trail covers approximately 3.7 kilometres and typically takes one to two hours to complete depending on fitness level, with stairs installed at the steepest sections to assist hikers along the way. Dense tropical forest lines the route, with notable birdlife and varied vegetation making the ascent itself a worthwhile experience beyond the views from the top. The hike is genuinely challenging — steep, humid, and physically demanding on the ankles and knees — so it suits travellers who are reasonably fit and comfortable with uneven terrain. The path begins on rocky ground before becoming more manageable further along, though conditions can turn muddy. The atmosphere is immersive and authentically jungle-like rather than a polished tourist trail, which adds to its appeal for those seeking something more active during their time in Krabi. Visitors should wear supportive, closed-toe footwear with good ankle support, and bring sufficient water as the heat and humidity make dehydration a real concern. There is a ticketed entrance at the trailhead, and note that guides on site have been reported to be assertive when selling tickets, so arriving prepared with that expectation can help. Opening hours are not confirmed in advance, so arriving early in the day is advisable both to secure entry and to complete the hike before the midday heat peaks.

Visitor Reviews
One of the most beautiful viewpoints in Krabi. The 3.7 km road takes about an hour or two, depending on your level of training. In the most difficult places, there are stairs. The reward will be a magnificent view of Phang Nga Bay and Krabi Province from a rock jutting out over the abyss. You can sit on it with your legs dangling, but only at the beginning, while still below, be sure to make a note in the journal before going out on the trail - there have been tragic cases of falls. And personally, I met a couple of snakes and monitor lizards
Hot and sticky, and wonderful. Well worth the trip to get here. A jungle hike, all steep and uphill, in proper humidity. Lots of birdlife, lots of interesting trees, wear sturdy shoes. It can get muddy (muddier). It is hot and sticky, until you reach the top, and then the views are absolutely incredible. Peaks and ocean in the distance and rolling green hills.
The view was absolutely breathtaking. The path at the beginning was a bit rocky after that it wasn't too bad. It is quite steep so make sure you have supportive trainers. Most importantly, bring water with you or you could buy it at the entrance. I recommend to visit on sunny days otherwise it is quite cloudy up there.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
