Ruen Kaew Massage
Tucked away in the laid-back mountain town of Pai, this small massage studio has built a loyal following among both passing travellers and longer-stay visitors. Reviewers consistently praise the skill and warmth of the staff, with one regular reportedly returning for around 15 sessions over a single winter season — a strong testament to the quality on offer. Oil massage, foot massage, and traditional Thai massage are among the treatments available, delivered by masseuses described as respectful, kind, and genuinely talented. The setting is simple and unpretentious rather than spa-style, so visitors should arrive expecting a clean, functional environment rather than plush décor or a quiet ambient atmosphere. There can be a lively buzz among staff, which adds to the local character but may not suit those seeking complete tranquillity. What it lacks in polish it more than makes up for in authenticity and personal attention. Good to know: Prices are notably affordable — one reviewer cited 200 baht for a session — making it an excellent option for budget-conscious travellers. As opening hours are not listed online, it is worth asking your guesthouse or accommodation for current details before heading over. Pai itself is around three to four hours by road from Chiang Mai, and the town is best explored at a relaxed pace, making a stop here a natural fit with the area's unhurried atmosphere.

Visitor Reviews
Great place! Very nice women and very good massage. I got the Oil massage and foot massage and they were both great!
I would give it 10 stars if could. A friend recommended Nok to me and I couldn't found a better masseuse if I tried. I spent the winter in Pai and had, roughly, 15 massages or so. After the 1st appointment she, Nok, knew exactly how to address my issues. After a horrific car accident in '99 and a life in the restaurant biz my body is messed up. Nok did an amazing job releasing some of those angry muscles that have been tight for 20+ years. 100% would recommend!!!
The massage was amazing all the workers are so respectful and kind that’s our third time and it’s getting better all the time I recommend you to come here you will understand me
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
