Freedom Yoga Studio
Tucked into a quiet neighbourhood in Chiang Mai's Old Town, Freedom Yoga Studio offers a clean, peaceful space for yoga practice with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The studio runs structured vinyasa flow classes that typically include breathwork, guided asana sequences, and time for self-practice, making sessions worthwhile for both beginners and more experienced practitioners. Small class sizes are a notable feature, and visitors have occasionally found themselves in near-private lessons, which adds real value to the experience. The studio is well-equipped with quality mats, and instructors are consistently described as knowledgeable and attentive to individual students. Classes follow a complete, full-body format rather than a drop-in flow, so participants can expect a proper session rather than a casual stretch. The surrounding neighbourhood is quiet and easy to move through, providing a calm contrast to busier parts of the city. Good to know: Drop-in sessions are available at approximately 400 baht, though some visitors note this is slightly above average for Chiang Mai yoga studios. Since opening hours and class schedules are not listed online, it is worth contacting the studio directly or stopping by in person to confirm current timetables before building a visit into your itinerary. Arriving a few minutes early is advisable, particularly if it is your first visit and you want to discuss your experience level with the instructor beforehand.

Visitor Reviews
Freedom Yoga in Chiang Mai Old Town is such a lovely studio — clean, welcoming, and equipped with great mats with excellent grip. The teachers are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed the Therapeutic Yoga with Kru Cherry — her workshop-style class is interactive and full of detailed guidance on how to move and care for your body both on and off the mat. Hatha Vinyasa and Vinyasa with Kru Tan are equally amazing — her gentle guidance and assistance on each asana create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Very nice yoga studio, welcoming atmosphere and casual price for thailand 400 bath for session. Teacher give complete vinyasa flow with breathing, guided asana flow full body, time for self practice advanced asana of your choice, extra stretching and meditation to close one and a half hour of practice. More then enough time to sweat or just flow with your breathing. Truly enjoyed all of my sessions! Don't forget to book your spot before to go, good yoga studio is always full.
My favourite times in Chiang Mai. I did three different classes - all of them I loved. The first, there was only two of us so it was like a private lesson which was very cool. The last one this evening, the Power Vinyasa flow was great - I even nearly ish did a handstand and headstand which I have never tried or even think I could do. 10/10. Defo go to when in Chiang Mai!!!!
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
