Body and Mind Healing
Tucked into the peaceful Phra Sing neighbourhood of Chiang Mai's Old City, this wellness centre is built around structured courses in Tai Chi, Qigong, and Reiki rather than one-off spa treatments. The heart of the experience is Rod, the resident instructor, whose teaching draws consistent praise for its depth, patience, and adaptability. Qigong sessions run in seven-week cycles, with each week targeting a different area of the body, while Tai Chi and Reiki courses at both beginner and advanced levels are also on offer for those looking to develop a genuine practice during their stay. The atmosphere is calm and inclusive, with visitors frequently noting the welcoming environment and Rod's ability to make unfamiliar disciplines accessible without oversimplifying them. Whether guests come for a single week or commit to a longer immersion, the approach is personalised and grounded in traditional practice. Reiki training, including Levels 1 and 2, is available for those interested in energy healing alongside the movement-based disciplines. Good to know: this centre suits travellers who want to learn and take something practical home with them, rather than those seeking a passive spa experience. Given the structured, course-based format, booking in advance is strongly recommended, particularly during Chiang Mai's peak tourist season between November and February. Reaching out directly before arrival helps confirm current schedules and availability, as opening hours and timetables are not published online.

Visitor Reviews
For the past four weeks, I’ve been training Tai Chi and Qi Gong with Rod at Body & Mind Healing, and honestly, it’s been a beautiful experience. I’ve wanted to start Tai Chi and Qi Gong for years, but I never found the right place or timing. These four weeks felt like the right moment. Rod teaches step by step, making sure we truly understand the basics instead of just copying movements. He’s patient, clear, and always present with us. What I appreciated most is his energy. He’s passionate, funny, and genuinely cares about his students. You can feel that he loves what he does. The classes are structured but relaxed, focused but enjoyable. For me, it wasn’t just physical training. It helped me slow down, feel more grounded, and connect better with my body and mind. If you’re coming to Chiang Mai and thinking about trying Tai Chi or Qi Gong, I truly recommend training with Rod. I’ll definitely be back to continue the next level. Thank you, Rod 🙏
Thank you for the wonderful Qigong Healing and Tai Chi training week. I learned so much and was able to take away many valuable insights and practices for myself. Rod teaches with great dedication, heart, and passion. He truly cares about his students and takes the time to support each individual personally. I am very grateful to Rod for this amazing experience. I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into it. It was an inspiring and enriching week that I will carry with me for a long time. I look forward to continuing the training as soon as possible! Highly recommended!
Rod is an amazing teacher. He has a very unique style, but he knows his stuff. I did Qigong (it runs in 7 week cycles, each week focusing on a different area of the body), Tai Chi, Reiki 1, Beginner's Yoga, and Inner Alchemy. The classes are more like courses rather than drop in sessions. If you have the time, it's worth it to come here. I've come back multiple times, and I'll definitely be back again. Can not recommend enough. Rod's energy is infectious and the Qigong and Tai Chi in particular helped me get the right start to my day.
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
