Visitor Reviews
I recently visited Phahon Yothin MRT Station and was impressed by its location, close to Central Plaza Ladprao, Union Mall, and Chatuchak Weekend Market. The station is heavily used by a diverse crowd, including office workers, food vendors, tourists, and students. It's wheelchair accessible and very clean. The staff are efficient and helpful, ensuring smooth operations. Despite the MRT being around for many years, the station is well-maintained. I highly recommend using this station for its convenience and excellent facilities. Overall, it offers a great experience for daily commuting and exploring Bangkok.
What a quirky little place to visit! We arrived here today feeling unexpectedly surprised. Aghast with bright, colourful, Warhol-style art. The eyes were immediately drawn not to the security guard but to the walls behind her. Still feeling mesmerised by the multi-faceted visual painting on all the walls and ceilings. I would bring any children (or any child-like adults) here just for a weekend of aesthetic joy.
Great station that you can connect to the BTS
Tips for Visiting Transportation
Take the Sleeper Train at Least Once
The Bangkok-to-Chiang Mai overnight train in a second-class sleeper berth is a bucket-list experience. Book at least a week ahead via 12Go.asia or at Hua Lamphong station. Upper berths are cheaper and have more headroom; lower berths have a window.
Use Grab Everywhere
Grab is the Uber of Southeast Asia and works across Thailand for cars, motorbike taxis, and even tuk-tuks in some cities. It eliminates haggling and provides fare estimates upfront. Load a Thai SIM or use eSIM to stay connected.
Rent Scooters Carefully
Always photograph the scooter's existing damage before riding off, and keep your passport — give a photocopy instead (some shops insist on the original; avoid these). Wear a helmet; police fine 500 THB for no helmet and accidents without one void insurance.
