TAJ PALACE RESTAURANT AONANG, KRABI
Taj Palace Restaurant brings North Indian cuisine to the heart of Aonang, one of Krabi's busiest coastal hubs, and has built a steady reputation among travellers looking for a dependable alternative to Thai food after days of beach activities and island-hopping. The menu focuses on Indian classics, with chicken tikka, garlic naan, chana masala, and mango lassi drawing consistent praise from visitors. The kitchen is notably accommodating for plant-based diners, with staff willing to adapt dishes on request — a practical advantage in an area where vegan options can be limited. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, drawing a mixed crowd of solo travellers, couples, and families. Service is generally described as polite and attentive. Some visitors note that certain dishes lean mild rather than boldly spiced, so those seeking strong heat may want to specify preferences when ordering. Pricing sits at a comfortable mid-range level, and the casual setting suits an easy meal out rather than a formal occasion. Good to know: Taj Palace is open every day from 10am to 1am, making it a practical choice for both lunch and late-night dining throughout the week. During peak tourist season — roughly November to April — Aonang becomes significantly busier and demand for tables during dinner hours increases. Larger groups or those visiting during busy periods may want to check the restaurant's website at tajpalace.net in advance.

Visitor Reviews
This dish looks absolutely delicious! The chicken pieces have a beautiful char and vibrant reddish-brown color, suggesting they’re well-marinated and perfectly roasted. The garnish of fresh herbs adds brightness, and the dipping sauce in the center makes the presentation inviting. It looks flavorful, juicy, and restaurant-quality.
Lovely vegan food, the waiter assured us everything could be made vegan and so we ordered garlic naan bread, paratha, boiled rice, mixed vegetable curry and chana masala. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. Recommended
After being disappointed by another Indian restaurant, we decided to try Taj. The chicken tikka was great, the garlic naan was great, the rice was great, and the mango lassi was great. The chicken momo, however, is not something I’d recommend—it wasn’t good at all. That said, when we mentioned it to the staff, they kindly brought us spring rolls, which were really nice. The hospitality is excellent, and the vibe is great—busy, lively, and the food feels fresh. Overall, it’s a good place to eat; just stick to the more popular items on the menu.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
