TAJ PALACE RESTAURANT AONANG, KRABI
Taj Palace Restaurant brings Indian cuisine to the heart of Aonang, offering a reliable dining option in one of Krabi's busiest coastal hubs. The menu centres on classic North Indian dishes, with visitor favourites including chicken tikka, garlic naan, chana masala, and mango lassi. The kitchen is also notably accommodating for vegan diners, with staff willing to adapt dishes on request — a practical consideration for plant-based travellers who can find options limited elsewhere in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, drawing a mix of solo travellers, couples, and families. Service is generally described as polite and attentive, and the restaurant strikes a comfortable mid-range price point. While some visitors note that certain dishes can lean mild rather than bold, the overall consistency keeps it a well-regarded choice in Aonang. The space suits casual dining rather than a formal night out, and the late closing time of 1am makes it a practical option after a long day of island-hopping or beach activities. Good to know: Taj Palace is open every day from 10am to 1am, so it accommodates both lunch and late-night meals throughout the week. During peak tourist season — roughly November to April — Aonang fills up quickly and tables can be in demand during dinner hours. Checking the restaurant's website at tajpalace.net ahead of time is worthwhile for larger groups or busy periods.

Visitor Reviews
This dish looks absolutely delicious! The chicken pieces have a beautiful char and vibrant reddish-brown color, suggesting they’re well-marinated and perfectly roasted. The garnish of fresh herbs adds brightness, and the dipping sauce in the center makes the presentation inviting. It looks flavorful, juicy, and restaurant-quality.
Lovely vegan food, the waiter assured us everything could be made vegan and so we ordered garlic naan bread, paratha, boiled rice, mixed vegetable curry and chana masala. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. Recommended
After being disappointed by another Indian restaurant, we decided to try Taj. The chicken tikka was great, the garlic naan was great, the rice was great, and the mango lassi was great. The chicken momo, however, is not something I’d recommend—it wasn’t good at all. That said, when we mentioned it to the staff, they kindly brought us spring rolls, which were really nice. The hospitality is excellent, and the vibe is great—busy, lively, and the food feels fresh. Overall, it’s a good place to eat; just stick to the more popular items on the menu.

Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
