Rise and Grind Phuket วันใหม่ในเมืองเก่า “Specialty Coffee & Healthy Food”
Tucked along Phuket Road in the heart of Phuket Old Town, Rise and Grind is an owner-operated café where the personal investment shows in every detail. The owners run the floor themselves, and visitors consistently note the warmth and care that comes with that — a quality that sets it apart from more generic tourist-facing spots in the area. Its location near the historic old town district makes it a natural stop for those exploring the neighbourhood's colourful Sino-Portuguese architecture and cultural landmarks. The café specialises in carefully prepared coffee that draws genuine praise from visitors with discerning tastes, alongside a food menu built around healthy, thoughtfully sourced options. Gluten-free cakes, cheesecake, and a dedicated vegan menu have all featured on offer, catering to a range of dietary needs that can otherwise be hard to satisfy while travelling. The interior earns particular mention for its cool, characterful design, and the atmosphere is described as homely rather than trendy — comfortable enough to linger over a long breakfast or a second coffee. Good to know: The café opens at 8:00 AM every day of the week, making it well suited for an early breakfast before sightseeing. It closes at 6:30 PM most days, with a slightly later 7:00 PM closing on Sundays. English is spoken well by staff, which makes ordering straightforward for international visitors. As a popular spot in a busy heritage area, arriving earlier in the day is advisable to secure a seat during peak travel seasons.

Visitor Reviews
We found this place using google maps and it popped up as one of the highest rated in the area. We were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and happy and speak good English. We came here to work remotely for the day, started with coffees and items from the bakery cabinet, and after four hours, we got some lunch - which was delicious! The temperature at the front is the perfect breeze from the aircon. (We don’t like it too cold) It’s very accommodating for people working remotely and the music playing is a chilled modern vibe so you don’t need to use your headphones as it’s not noisy inside. Also super aesthetic inside too, toilets are located through the back and are clean.
Went for the food, stayed for the homely atmosphere. Rise and Grind had a dedicated vegan menu for the vegetarian festival and I couldn’t help but try 2 different dishes which I hope I get to see on their permanent menu! You can tell that the food is freshly made with love - the blend of spices and herbs created such beautiful flavours. The owners Ken and Hannah have truly created something special with this place, I instantly felt welcomed like I stepped into an old friend’s home. This place is one I will keep returning to 💛
Awesome cafe in Phuket Old Town near the historic yellow museum. The owners take great care of their customers and run the cafe themselves so you know they put their heart into everything they do. Had a long chat with them about their background and history of the building. Ken is an awesome barista - taste and art is excellent! Food is very tasty and well plated. Definitely worth a visit when you're in town!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
