Sweet Family - Pattaya
Tucked away on Soi Chaloem Phrakiat 21, this intimate family-run Thai restaurant has built a loyal following among visitors who stumble upon it and immediately wish they had found it sooner. The owner doubles as the cook, bringing a personal touch to every dish and a genuine authenticity to the menu that sets it apart from more tourist-facing options in Pattaya. Regulars speak warmly of the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and the sense that you are eating in someone's home rather than a commercial establishment. Visitors can expect generous hospitality from the owners, a laid-back setting ideal for lingering over food and conversation, and a menu rooted in traditional Thai cooking. The Massaman chicken is among the dishes ordered by guests, and the overall spread gives diners a solid taste of everyday Thai cuisine. A resident dog adds a charming, homely quality to the experience that several guests have singled out as genuinely memorable. Practically speaking, Sweet Family opens at 15:00 daily and stays open until 04:00 in the morning, making it one of the more reliable late-night dining options in the area. It is particularly well-suited to those looking for a relaxed meal after a long evening out. As a small, owner-operated spot with no website listed, walk-ins are the norm, and arriving earlier in the evening may offer a quieter, more personal experience.

Visitor Reviews
Loved everything about this place. I walked in around 3am on a Saturday night and was greeted with plenty of excitement. The owner was there watching his PSG team play and we were all excited to watch football together. The food was very delicious, probably my favorite pad Thai and mango sticky rice in a long time. The chef personally came to me and told me she wanted to get me fresh mangos 😄 Cool place to come to if you enjoy watching football, eating delicious pad Thai or any other Thai dish.
This place has a very authentic vibe. The couple who owns it is lovely, and the person who cooks the food is also the owner. We ordered several dishes and got a taste of genuine Thai cuisine. The food was excellent and very affordable.
Great food, comfortable ambience - felt just like family! 🥰 Fabi is a great guy at your service always 🙌.. mimi (is the name I think) the pet dog makes spending your evening worth it and memorable 🙏 love him 🐶 ❤️

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
