MOLLY’S
Tucked into Pai's Wiang Tai neighbourhood, this British café offers a welcome taste of home for travellers craving familiar comfort food amid the mountains of Mae Hong Son Province. Specialising in classic English fare, it draws repeat visitors with dishes like full English breakfasts, breakfast wraps, cheesy beans on toast, and fish and chips made with real cod — a detail that regulars specifically appreciate. The atmosphere is relaxed and low-key, fitting naturally into Pai's unhurried pace. The food is generally well-regarded, with breakfasts earning particular praise for quality ingredients and a solid pot of Yorkshire tea. That said, some visitors have noted that portion sizes, particularly for the fish and chips, can feel modest relative to the price, so it is worth keeping expectations calibrated accordingly. Good to know: Molly's opens at 9am most days, making it a convenient early stop for a cooked breakfast before exploring the area. Hours run until 5pm Monday through Saturday, with Sunday extending to 8pm — the only evening service available during the week. Walk-ins appear to be the norm, and the café tends to be quiet during off-peak morning hours. Payment preferences have been flagged by at least one visitor as a minor friction point, so it may be worth confirming payment options before ordering.

Visitor Reviews
We enjoyed this place so much we came here twice. It’s a nice place if you are craving some English food. I got the breakfast wrap and the cheesy beans on toast. The wrap was lovely and very full with bacon and egg, the sausage was really good too. The beans on toast was nice, crunchy bread but still good. Lots of classic English meals on the menu like toad in the hole, and bangers and mash.
Loved their fish and chips🤤 The cod was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. It’s great to get real cod, since most Thai restaurants usually use local fish like sea bass or pangasius. Definitely recommend!
Brilliant spot if you are in need of a greasy western fix, we went around 9:30am, the restaurant was dead, I got a breakfast wrap which was great until I took it out of the tightly wrapped baking paper, which then flooded my plate with oil, the sausages are nice however feel like they could do with another 5 minutes in the pan. Overall not outstanding but good enough.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
