LaoMa Express
LaoMa Express is a budget-friendly Chinese-Thai eatery in the Wiang area of Mueang Chiang Rai District, drawing a loyal following for its Hong Kong-style noodles and roasted meats. The kitchen turns out an appealing spread of crowd favourites, with roasted duck egg noodles, char siew, crispy pork, BBQ pork, and wonton soup all earning consistent praise from visitors. Dishes are priced in the 50–70 THB range, making it an accessible option for travellers watching their spending without wanting to compromise on quality or flavour. The food leans firmly into Chinese-Thai tradition — savoury, well-seasoned, and built around fresh ingredients. Chicken wings are noted for their crispiness and generous meat, while the roasted duck is described as tender rather than chewy. Rice and noodle bases are both available, giving diners flexibility in how they build their meal. The overall experience is straightforward and unfussy, focused squarely on the food itself. LaoMa Express is open seven days a week from 9:00 AM, with slightly extended hours on Saturdays until 8:30 PM and closing at 8:00 PM on all other days. Arriving during off-peak lunch or mid-afternoon hours is a practical way to avoid any wait, particularly on weekends when demand for the roasted duck dishes tends to be higher. No website is available, so walk-ins are the standard approach.

Visitor Reviews
The food is excellent 👍👍👍. Roast duck, Roasted pork, Char siew. Whether with rice or noodles, they taste great. Definitely Chinese Thai taste but it's so savoury for me. The chillies , soya sauce with green chilies are great pairing with the food. Price is reasonable. Dine in or take away, the food still taste great. Locals or tourist should like the food there. Definitely recommended
What an absolute delicious restaurant. Ordered 4 dishes and everything was top notch quality. Chicken wings were Crispy and had lots of meat on them. Vegetables so fresh and Crispy. White chicken Curry was perfect. Everything priced very reasonable and large Heineken was 90 baht.
Good place for Hong Kong style noodle, BBQ pork and crispy pork are above average level. Very satisfied for 50-70 THB noodle. Roasted duck's skin should be crispier though.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
