Moose Rooftop Wine Bar
Perched on the 8th floor of Moose Hotel along the lively Nimmanahaeminda Road, this rooftop bar draws visitors for its unobstructed views toward Doi Suthep Mountain, making it a popular spot to watch the sun go down over Chiang Mai. The setting is casual and convivial, with a relaxed atmosphere that works equally well for solo travellers, couples, and families — reviewers note there is even a children's playground area, so parents can enjoy a drink while kids stay entertained. The cocktail menu is a highlight, with well-priced drinks and a happy hour promotion running from 5pm to 7pm daily (except Thursday) offering two-for-one cocktails — a detail worth knowing before you arrive. The music plays at a lively volume, which suits the evening crowd well, though those seeking a quieter experience may want to arrive earlier in the evening. Staff receive consistent praise for being friendly and attentive. Practically speaking, the bar is open evenings from 5pm to 11pm most days, with Thursday running daytime hours only (9am to 5pm). To reach the bar, take the hotel lift to the 7th floor and follow the stairs up one level. Arriving around sunset is recommended to make the most of the mountain views before the sky darkens.

Visitor Reviews
Lovely rooftop bar for a few cocktails and a view of the sunset. Take the lift up to the 7th floor of the hotel and walk up the stairs to the bar on the 8th floor. Service was pretty good, there were a few times where we were trying to get another drink and there were multiple staff, none who wanted to make eye contact or acknowledge us so we had to go up to the bar, which we're happy to do as that's the norm in the UK, but usually isn't the done thing in Thailand.
Only had drinks there and did not know that between 5-7pm it was 2 4 1 on cocktails. Got there for sunset, which is worth the trip to the bar, and the cocktails were spot on for the price. The staff was very friendly and gave great service. Funky roof top bar, which is well worth the visit.
Enjoying the beautiful sunset at Doi Suthep Mountain and eating delicious food, life is just like this. There is also a children's playground, so the children won't be bored while the adults are eating. It's worth to visit again. 😀

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
