Jarid Thai Food | Fine Wines
Tucked into Soi 3 off Nimmanahaeminda Road, this fine dining Thai restaurant distinguishes itself by pairing authentic regional cuisine with a carefully selected wine list — an combination that remains relatively uncommon in Chiang Mai's dining scene. The surrounding Nimmanhaemin neighbourhood is one of the city's most vibrant, lined with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants, making Jarid a natural stop on any exploration of the area. The atmosphere draws visitors in before they even sit down — guests have noted live guitar music at the entrance on weekend evenings, setting a warm and relaxed tone. Inside, the kitchen delivers flavourful, well-prepared Thai dishes, with the chicken satay frequently highlighted as a standout. Staff are consistently praised for their friendliness, and the kitchen handles group dining well, maintaining quality and consistency across multiple dishes ordered at once. For those who appreciate a sit-down meal rather than street-food dining, this is a setting that respects Thai culinary tradition while offering a more polished experience. The restaurant is open every day from 11:00 to 23:00, covering lunch, dinner, and evening dining throughout the week. Worth noting for first-time visitors: the venue is best reached on foot, as parking in the immediate area is limited. Those visiting on a Saturday evening may find the added atmosphere of live music an appealing bonus, though arriving earlier in the evening is advisable to secure a table without a long wait.

Visitor Reviews
We came here two days in a row. The food was amazing — I ended up eating two plates of spaghetti by myself! All the staff were very friendly, especially 😊Bua🙃. Thank you for the great service! Bua, we want to see you again 🙃
I’ve finally tried this restaurant that I’ve been eyeing for a LONG TIME and it did not disappoint!! The food was good! Flavorful! I ordered the recommended chicken satay and the meat was tender and well season! (I’m Caribbean so my standard are way up there and this place meat them) my waiter Yean was AMAZINGGGG!! He was friendly and made me feel welcome 🥹♥️ which is a lot for a black girl travelling alone! I Loved this place! I’ll definitely come back!
I had a great experience here. The restaurant is only accessible via walking as there is no nearby parking spots that I could see. It’s located in a very popular touristy district where LOTs of shops and restaurants are. You have to walk to discover. The food is Thai fusion and it was OK with me. What I had ordered was, what I considered comfort food, and I finish every grain of rice. Some of you who read this could say that I could have gone somewhere else for a 10th of the price but that’s really not the point is it? I was there to enjoy the atmosphere the food and just trying it out. I enjoyed my time there and given the opportunity I’ll come back, but then there’s a lot of places to try so it might be a while 😆

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
