Duklong Cafe and Eat
Tucked into the historic Phra Nakhon district near Bangkok's old city temples, this all-day café and restaurant sits alongside a canal with a flower-lined terrace that draws a consistent mix of locals and international visitors. The setting is its strongest asset — relaxed, photogenic, and well-suited to travellers winding down after a morning of temple sightseeing in the surrounding neighbourhood. The menu covers both Thai and Western options across all meals, making it a practical choice for mixed groups or those wanting flexibility throughout the day. Thai dishes are where the kitchen shines, with shrimp tom yum and green curry drawing particular praise from repeat visitors. Western breakfast items are also available — pancakes served with fruit sides and jam toast are a popular order — though the Western breakfast selection is relatively limited in variety, so those seeking a wide range of options may want to check the current menu on arrival. Good to know: the café opens every day at 8am and closes at 9pm, with no weekly closures to plan around. The canalside terrace is best enjoyed during daylight hours when the setting is at its most atmospheric, making a late morning or early afternoon visit well-timed for both the view and a post-sightseeing meal. The Facebook page listed on the venue profile is the most current source for menu updates.

Visitor Reviews
My fiancé and I had the pleasure of dining here on our final day in Bangkok, and it truly was the perfect grand finale to our trip. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the atmosphere. The setting is charming and peaceful, with plenty of seating options whether you prefer indoors, outdoors, or right by the riverside. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed. After we were seated, we were warmly welcomed and had a lovely chat with the manager, who took a genuine interest in our travels and where we were visiting from. That level of friendliness and hospitality made the experience feel even more special. As for the food...simply outstanding. It was the best meal we had during our time in Thailand. Every dish was packed with incredible flavour, and the prices were more than reasonable for the quality. In our opinion, it’s unbeatable. If you’re staying nearby, skip the overpriced restaurants around Khaosan Road and take a short walk down the road and over the bridge instead. You’ll be rewarded with amazing food, a beautiful atmosphere, and genuinely kind people. Highly recommended!
This was my fourth visit to this lovely café, and I can honestly say — I love it more every time! The food here never disappoints. Everything is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. On our most recent visit, we ordered the prawns in curry sauce , crab rangoon and fried rice — both were absolutely delicious. The prawns were juicy and cooked perfectly, and the curry sauce had just the right balance of spice and creaminess. The fried rice was fragrant and satisfying, with generous portions. What makes this place even more special is the warmth and kindness of the staff. They’re always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely sweet. The owner, in particular, is such a kind and gracious lady. She always makes the effort to greet guests personally, which adds such a lovely, personal touch to the experience. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed — a great spot to unwind with good food and great service. Whether you're coming alone, as a couple, or with friends, this place always feels like a hidden gem. Highly recommended if you're in the area and looking for a place that feels like a second home with food that hits the spot every single time.
Very nice environment by the river with flowers! Breakfast options for westerners, we liked the pancake meal, not the eggs with pork topping. They give fruit sides and jam toast to all the breakfast options. Would come again mostly for the environment, even though I didn't necessarily like my food that much.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
