TaiPan Nightclub
Situated at the prominent corner of Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road and Bangla Road, TaiPan is one of Patong's more established nightclub venues, drawing a mixed crowd of tourists and locals into Phuket's busiest entertainment strip. Its central location makes it easy to find and a natural stop on a night out in the area. The venue operates as a bar and nightclub combination, with a DJ, dance floor, and table service. Visitors report decent music and reasonable drink value, though some note the dance floor atmosphere can feel performative rather than genuinely social. Pricing has reportedly increased noticeably in recent seasons, so it is worth checking current drink prices before settling in for the night. Good to know: Several recent visitor reviews raise serious concerns worth considering before visiting, including reports of card skimming, cash disappearing with servers, and incidents of discriminatory treatment toward non-white guests. Travellers are advised to use cash only if visiting, keep an eye on drinks and transactions at all times, and be aware that experiences vary considerably. As opening hours are not listed online, confirming times directly before heading out is recommended. Patong's nightlife generally picks up after 10 PM, with peak activity running through the early hours.

Visitor Reviews
If you want to experience the legendary nightlife of Patong, Tai Pan Club is an absolute staple. Located right at the intersection of Rat-U-Thit Road and Bangla Road, it’s often called the "Finest Bar In Thailand" (FBI) for a reason. The Experience & Music: What sets Tai Pan apart is its incredible mix of live music and top-tier DJ sets. The night usually starts with high-energy live bands playing rock and pop classics before transitioning into a full-blown club atmosphere with electronic and house beats. The live music pubs inside are top-notch, and the dance floor is always buzzing. Vibe & Service: The club has a fantastic, unpretentious vibe. One of the best parts? No entry fee! You can just walk in and start enjoying the music. The area is crowded but clean, with plenty of security, making it feel safe even during peak hours. The bar staff are quick, and they even offer great promotions like lucky draws and t-shirt giveaways throughout the night. Family & Convenience: While primarily a spot for adults, families can easily have a walk from outside to soak in the neon lights and music before the real party starts late at night. It’s well-connected, surrounded by massage centers, and finding a Tuk-tuk or booking an online cab right outside is very easy.
The music and DJ are very decent. The drinks are good and you get a lot for the.money. the only letdown is the pretentious dance floor. I know some dudes like all the fakeness, but id rather have a genuine dance floor that I can make connection on. Not a floor full of paid for girls. Maybe it's just me, but it's not what I came here for. It's a good club, but could be better.
Do not go here unless you plan on getting scammed. Definitely don't use your cards, they skim cards here and use your pin. Also don't order from servers walking around, they take your cash and disappear hoping you forgot about it and then they bring you less change. Instead go order at bar if you want overpriced drinks in a room full of lady boys and old men. Waste of time and if they spill your drinks, they won't give you new ones. Worst experience of my life.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
