The Beach in Hua Hin
Tucked along Poon Suk Road in the heart of Hua Hin's lively nightlife strip, The Beach is a bar and pub that has built a loyal following thanks to its genuinely hospitable atmosphere and tight-knit team. Visitors consistently single out the staff for going out of their way to make guests feel at home, and the relaxed, social vibe means solo travellers and couples alike tend to find themselves staying longer than planned. The atmosphere leans casual and convivial rather than loud and flashy. Regulars describe it as the kind of place where conversation flows easily, the crowd is friendly, and the experience feels more like catching up with friends than a night out at a bar. The non-pushy, welcoming environment sets it apart from some of the more touristy options in the area, and the staff — with Doug and the crew frequently mentioned by name — are clearly a big part of what makes it tick. Poon Suk Road sits in one of Hua Hin's more active evening areas, so The Beach is well-placed for those making a night of it across multiple spots. As opening hours are not confirmed in advance, it is worth checking locally or swinging by in the early evening to get a feel for the schedule. Those who prefer a lower-key bar experience with genuine warmth over high-energy spectacle will find this a comfortable fit.

Visitor Reviews
I had a wonderful Time at The Beach. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. It was the most hospitable bar in all of Hua Hin. If you get a chance you will also get to meet the owner Douglas who will give you the shirt off hi back if he thought it would make your experience better. I ended up going back there almost every night of my vacation because it was the place to be!
My husband have visited The Beach a number of times during our stay in Hua Hin. It’s a great place with a wonderful team. They make everyone feel welcome and other customers are super friendly, creating a lovely atmosphere, where you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend it from the multiple options in the area.
Doug and the crew are fantastic! I found myself skipping the bars and heading over there. It's feels like you are with your best friends from school just hanging out.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
