Buakhao Market
Buakhao Market is a well-established permanent market in the Pattaya Tai area, drawing a steady mix of locals, expats, and visitors looking for an authentic alternative to Pattaya's more tourist-oriented shopping destinations. Clothing and fashion sit at the heart of the offering, but the market extends well beyond retail to include fresh fruit, produce, jewellery, shoes, cosmetics, second-hand goods, and souvenirs, making it a genuinely varied destination for browsing and everyday shopping. The atmosphere carries a local, social character that distinguishes it from purpose-built shopping centres. Beauty services including massages, manicures, pedicures, and facial treatments attract regular visitors, while the food and drink stalls serve as a natural gathering point throughout the day. Sundays tend to bring the largest crowds and the most active energy, though the market sees consistent footfall across the week. Fresh fruit is a particular draw, with vendors offering quality produce at competitive prices throughout the morning. The market opens daily at 6:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM, with early mornings generally the best time to shop for fresh produce. Most transactions are cash-based, so visitors should carry Thai baht. Given the outdoor setting and typically warm conditions, light clothing and comfortable footwear are practical choices, especially during busier midday hours.

Visitor Reviews
Soi Buakhao Market is a permanent market where you can find just about anything. The focus is on clothing, but they also offer massages, manicures, and pedicures. In addition, there are souvenirs and all sorts of things you might need—or not 😉. Of course, food is a must: from simple rice dishes and kanom (Thai sweets) to fresh fruit, you'll find it all. It's simply a pleasure to stroll through and let yourself wander. The prices are generally quite reasonable. The scooter parking is also very convenient—it only costs 10 baht. Everything you need can be found here. Endless aisles of food, spices, and clothes. Almost impossible to see in one day. A must-see! Excellent 👍🏻
Bukao Market is a wonderful supermarket. It has everything. Lots of second-hand products of all kinds. Jewelry, shoes, clothes, food products, nails, cosmetics. Open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. You can buy food, household products, clothes, shoes, drinks, poultry, fish, fast food such as pad Thai rice and all the Thai food style. Well done to the management.
A lively and authentic local market that’s definitely worth visiting in Pattaya. The atmosphere is vibrant, with plenty of food, shops, and things to see. I especially recommend the facial treatment available inside—it was a pleasant surprise and a very relaxing experience. A great place to explore and enjoy local life.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
