Tesco Lotus Express pai
This Tesco Lotus Express operates as a compact supermarket in the heart of Pai's Wiang Tai area, serving as a practical pit stop for travellers needing to stock up on groceries, toiletries, snacks, and provisions. Think of it as a step above a convenience store — notably larger than a 7-Eleven, with a decent selection of fresh and frozen meats, seafood, and packaged goods, as well as alcohol. Those seeking frozen treats will appreciate the occasional finds in the freezer aisle, while travellers with specific dietary needs will find a reasonable mix of local Thai products and familiar brands. The atmosphere is functional rather than inspiring — shelves are sometimes being restocked during busy periods, which can make navigating the aisles a little awkward. The store is clean and air-conditioned, offering a comfortable break from the heat. Staff receive generally positive mentions from visitors. Those wanting a wider selection are advised that a larger supermarket is reportedly located directly opposite, which may better suit shoppers with more specific requirements. Good to know: The store opens daily from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM, making it useful for early-morning departures or late-evening supply runs. Travellers staying at accommodation outside town will find it a sensible first stop on arrival. A small note of caution from regular visitors: the area outside the entrance can attract a rowdy crowd, particularly in the evenings, so solo travellers may want to keep that in mind when visiting after dark.

Visitor Reviews
It’s sort of like a fancier 7-11. They do have alcohol. They have a lot of fresh frozen meats and seafood. I also found one of my favorite treats here, frozen chocolate covered strawberries, and bananas.
A good stop off for essentials when off to the air b and b. Beware the drunks and pot heads hanging about outside though. There seem to be more every year!
It's ok. Always seem to be restocking shelves making it a bit if a challenge to get around... especially during busy periods.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
