Night market
Located on Anusan Sunthon Road in the Chang Khlan district of Chiang Mai, this night market is a well-established destination for tourists looking to browse a wide range of Thai goods in a lively outdoor setting. Stalls stretch across a sizeable area and stock an eclectic mix of silk, cashmere, linen clothing, handmade crafts, bags, soaps, and souvenirs — making it a practical one-stop destination for gift shopping. Live music and traditional dancers add atmosphere, and the surrounding area includes massage shops for those wanting to rest mid-browse. As with many markets of this kind, stall offerings can feel repetitive, and visitors should be aware that the selection leans heavily toward tourist-oriented merchandise. That said, the market does carry genuinely handmade Thai goods that set it apart from the more counterfeit-heavy markets found in Bangkok and Pattaya. Food stalls are present throughout, though some visitors have found the food options underwhelming compared to other eating spots in Chiang Mai. A practical tip: arriving later in the evening tends to work in shoppers' favour, as vendors are often more willing to negotiate on price as closing time approaches. Opening hours are not confirmed in advance, so it is worth checking locally before visiting, as the number of open stalls can vary depending on the night.

Visitor Reviews
It is, of course, a place for tourists. And the stalls are repetitive. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit at night. There are all sorts of things to buy, special souvenirs or gifts can be picked up here. A useful tip: (Don't forget to bargain, it always works. The only time you don't bargain is when eating). There is also a wide variety of fresh white food. And there is always live music in the right places. It's not a place you visit every evening, actually one evening is enough. But if you do, you should go in the dark and enjoy the colors and the hustle and bustle...
Do all of your Thai souvenir shopping here. Best variety and prices. Silk, cashmere, linen, clothes, soaps, bags, etc. At the end of the evening you can negotiate the best prices. It is crowded and hot. It may rain. Bring cash in small bills
Lots of food stalls, love music and dancers, any massage places close by, large market for clothes and other good open there also

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
