Anusarn Market
Anusarn Market is a well-established night market situated on Changklan Road in the heart of Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar area, open every evening from 5pm to 11pm. It draws visitors looking for a relaxed, all-in-one evening out, with a broad mix of handicrafts, clothing, artwork, and souvenirs spread across a compact and navigable layout. A nightly cabaret show adds an entertainment dimension that sets it apart from the surrounding street stalls. The market is widely appreciated for being more organised than the open-air bazaars nearby, making it easier to browse at a comfortable pace. A large food court sits within the market, offering a wide selection of local dishes and street food snacks — a practical stop for those wanting to eat and shop in the same visit. The atmosphere is relaxed and tourist-friendly without feeling overwhelming. Practically speaking, the market comes fully to life after sunset, so arriving closer to 6pm or later gives visitors the best experience — earlier visits may find some stalls still setting up. Anusarn Market sits roughly a 15-minute walk from Tha Phae Gate, making it an easy addition to an evening exploring the broader Night Bazaar precinct. The Best All-In-One Night Market Experience If you only have one night to explore the Night Bazaar area, head straight to Anusarn Market. It’s better organized than the street stalls and offers a fantastic mix of shopping and dining under a partially covered roof great for those unexpected rainy nights. Highlights: • The Food Court: Huge variety! You can find everything from authentic Northern Thai Khao Soi to fresh seafood. There’s also a dedicated 'Chill Square' area with plenty of seating and live music. • Shopping: It’s a souvenir paradise. You’ll find Lanna-style handicrafts, high-quality soaps, silk scarves, and the classic elephant pants. • Vibe: It feels more relaxed than the main street. The walkways are wider, making it easier to browse without being constantly bumped by the crowd.
Anusarn Market is just a short walk from the Astra condos, making it a super convenient evening spot. It has a great mix of everything- arts, handicrafts, clothes, and all the souvenirs you could want. Even though it definitely has those touristy vibes, it’s nice because it never feels too overcrowded or overwhelming like some of the other spots. The large food market there is a highlight, covering all your staple Thai favorites, so it’s easy to grab a solid meal while you're out. Honestly, I just love the vibe here; it’s a really enjoyable night market to have a slow stroll and dinner. Definitely worth a visit.
We loved walking around the market, exploring the variety of street food, local snacks, souvenirs, and small shops. The vibe is relaxed and tourist friendly, making it easy to take your time and enjoy the surroundings. It’s a great spot to try different Thai foods, watch cultural shows, and pick up some nice gifts. Convenient location and a pleasant night market experience, worth visiting while in Chiang Mai.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
