Sun Moon Pai Bungalow
Tucked away in the Mae Hi area of Pai District, Sun Moon Pai Bungalow offers a back-to-basics retreat for travellers seeking peace, nature, and genuine value. The property comprises a small cluster of six simple bungalows, each with its own private bathroom and hot shower, set within a naturally green and quiet environment that feels well removed from the bustle of central Pai. Bungalows are described by guests as clean and cosy, with fresh bedding and a calm, homely atmosphere fostered by the family-run operation. A shared open-air communal area with basic cooking facilities allows guests to prepare their own meals and connect with fellow travellers, adding a community-style feel to the stay. The road from the property also provides a convenient shortcut back into central Pai, with restaurants and other amenities within easy walking distance. Good to know: Sun Moon Pai Bungalow suits budget-conscious travellers and those who appreciate a rustic, no-frills experience over polished hotel amenities. Guests who prefer softer mattresses or air-conditioned rooms may want to note that the accommodation leans toward simplicity. The property appears to be contactable via its Facebook page, so reaching out in advance to confirm availability and pricing is recommended before arrival.

Visitor Reviews
Great place to rest from busy central area and yet accessible, about 12 minutes walk from Walking street. Bungalows are simple and clean. Family business and no complications. Good value for money. They have a shared kitchen well organized and equipped for simple meals.
Loved staying here, they treat you like home and you will be pleasantly surprised at the community room. The location is super cool because the road leads to a short cut back to center Pai. Restaurants on the block are delicious and you have two coffee houses to pick from. One 6 floors up and the other, a whole wall of the building is gone to reveal the mountain side view. Enjoy!!
Cute bungalow with own bathroom with hot shower. Clean, cozy mattress and pillow (very new) is bit hard for my liking (getting used to it) I still had a good sleep because it is so quiet in the night. A 10 minute walk to the center. Owner is very helpful. There is a water kettle and free coffee and bananas. Good value for money. I would go back.
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
