Pai Smilehouse
Pai Smilehouse offers bungalow-style accommodation in the Mae Hi area of Pai, striking a balance that can be hard to find in this popular mountain town: close enough to the action to be convenient, yet far enough away to sleep undisturbed. The Walking Street — Pai's hub of food stalls, bars, and artisan shops — is roughly a five to ten minute walk from the property, making it a practical base for exploring the town without being in the middle of the noise. Guests consistently highlight the peaceful, leafy atmosphere and the opportunity to unwind in hammocks on the grounds. Breakfast has drawn praise from visitors, and the owners are noted for their warmth and helpfulness. The bungalows are described as simple and clean, with comfortable beds, which suits the unhurried character of Pai itself. Some guests have noted minor maintenance issues — including gaps in mosquito nets and limited lighting near the bed in certain rooms — so those with specific comfort requirements may want to raise these when booking. Practical details worth knowing: exact pricing and check-in hours are not listed on standard booking platforms, so reaching out directly via the property's Facebook page before arrival is the most reliable way to confirm availability, rates, and current room conditions. Pai's cooler mountain climate is most comfortable between November and February. Travellers arriving from Chiang Mai should account for the winding mountain road, which adds time to the journey regardless of distance.

Visitor Reviews
What a wonderful place. Despite there are now many houses build in this area it so quiet and peaceful. This gives you the time for relaxing for hours in the hammock. The walking street of Pai is max 5-7min away. Just a walk over the bamboo bridge. Every morning we where able to choose out of 6 different option for breakfast. And I can say all of them are delicious. I recommend this place highly. Some would say but there is no aircon. Don’t needed an aircon the fan was enough as the temperature in the night went down to around 22-24 degrees.
Our stay here was simply perfect! The location is peaceful and quiet, yet Walking Street is just a few minutes away on foot, which makes it very convenient. The breakfast was excellent and the owners were always friendly, approachable, and ready to help with anything we needed. The bungalows are cleaned daily and kept in great condition, plus the free drinks and snacks were such a thoughtful touch. We truly enjoyed our time here and would gladly return anytime. Highly recommended!
These bungalows are a perfect place to stay if you want to be close to Pai’s old center and walking street, yet still enjoy peace and quiet at night. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the bungalows to the heart of the walking street—close enough for convenience, far enough to escape the noise. The host of this accommodation is the sweetest lady. Every day she checked in to see if we were okay, and reminded us to be careful on the road. We visited during the rainy season, with heavy showers looming—but luckily, they held off. The rooms are very basic, but have everything you need: a warm shower, a fridge, a cozy balcony with a hammock, and most importantly—a mosquito net. Don’t forget to bring repellent! In short: a lovely, quiet place to stay with an amazing host and a decent breakfast. Highly recommended.
