Compare prices
Boutique Raft Resort River Kwai sits along the scenic River Kwai in Sai Yok district, Kanchanaburi, offering guests the rare experience of staying in wooden rooms built directly on floating rafts. The surrounding landscape is lush and largely undeveloped, making it a genuine retreat into Thailand's countryside rather than a polished resort experience. Visitors describe the setting as peaceful and immersive, with river views from the rooms themselves adding to the sense of being genuinely connected to the natural environment. Guests can expect a relaxed, nature-focused atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. The wooden raft suites are cosy and rustic in character — walls are timber, sounds carry across the water, and the overall feel is intimate rather than luxurious. The resort also serves food on-site, with visitors praising the quality of meals. Day visitors stopping for lunch are also welcome, though advance notice is recommended as food preparation can take time. Good to know: The resort suits travellers who appreciate a quieter, more unconventional stay and are comfortable with a setting that is charming but not modern. The remote riverside location means planning ahead is worthwhile — confirm meal options and any activities before arrival. The cooler months between November and February offer the most comfortable conditions for a riverside stay, and the resort is within reach of Kanchanaburi's historical sites, including the Bridge on the River Kwai, for those wishing to combine nature with culture.

Visitor Reviews
Relaxing riverside stay with great service and good food I had a really nice stay at the Boutique Raft Resort River Kwai. The view from the floating room was peaceful and made the whole experience feel special. Reception and room service staff were super friendly, and housekeeping was also very kind and attentive. The room was clean and cozy, though it didn’t have a kettle, and the AC was a bit inconsistent—it would randomly switch between cool and warm. The food at the restaurant was good—not amazing, but enjoyable. Some dishes stood out more than others. For a 3-star hotel, it definitely feels closer to a 4-star experience. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, nature-filled getaway with a unique floating room experience.
Lunch only visit recommended by outlet our guide. Marked the service down as our guide recommended we called in advance as the food took a long time to prepare. Despite a 20 minute drive we still waited 15 minutes for it to be ready. However, it did mean it was fresh and tasted beautiful. Stir fried chicken and basil, rice and a green chicken curry. This and two beers was cheap. Tasted out of this world. Great setting. Tidy resort. We’d come back and stay here.
I decided to bring my 91 years old father and my girlfriend here for a few days. The place was as expected. A little old and a little dated but absolute heaven for us. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every minute there. The staff are amazing. The food was quite good. Free breakfast with your room and we decided to eat 2 nights for dinner. I will choose this hotel again!
