Maryo Resort
Compare prices
Maryo Resort is a well-presented hotel in the Rop Wiang area of Chiang Rai, offering a calm and comfortable retreat from the city's busier streets. Set amid lush gardens, the resort features an outdoor pool, an on-site restaurant, and ample private parking — a practical advantage that stands out in a region where parking can be limited. The overall atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, making it a solid choice for travellers seeking rest rather than a central, high-traffic location. Rooms are clean and well-maintained, with options including spacious twin-bed configurations suited to both solo travellers and pairs. Some rooms include a bathtub, adding a welcome touch of comfort. Guests consistently highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff as a highlight of their stay. The resort sits roughly a 30-minute walk from Chiang Rai's city centre, so travellers without their own transport should note that getting around requires some planning. The resort does offer a van service to the night market on request, which is worth arranging in advance at the front desk. Visitors with a rental car or motorbike will find the location more convenient. The resort operates around the clock, so late arrivals are accommodated without issue.

Visitor Reviews
The place is beautiful. Since you arrive the attention is perfect for the staff who are part of this Resort. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. The resort is too beautiful and the pool is really good to hang out with. The resort has a restaurant and the food is too delicious. People are a love so if I have to recommend a place for someone to stay, I would gladly recommend this place.
This is perfect. Most hotels in Thailand claim to have “parking” but don’t have much parking. There is plenty of parking, and the staff are helpful. The restaurant is solid, the pool is great, and the location is central to all the Chiang Rai attractions. We will be coming back here.
Our stay was lovely. The hotel is clean, tidy, and has everything you need. The staff were helpful and friendly. Not very close to the center, but there’s an option to ask for a van to the night market and back.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
