riion chiang mai
Riion Chiang Mai is a small-scale boutique property on Moon Muang Road Soi 9, set within easy reach of the Old City's temples, night markets, and cultural landmarks. With only three guest rooms housed above a ground-floor café, it offers an unusually intimate alternative to larger hotels in the area, attracting travellers who value character and calm over scale. Guests consistently highlight the aesthetic care put into the rooms, describing them as clean and visually appealing. The in-house café is a genuine draw in its own right — the property uses its own house coffee bean blend, and drinks such as the Dirty Latte and Matcha Cloud have drawn praise from both hotel guests and walk-in visitors. Staff are frequently noted for their warmth and attentiveness, and staying guests receive a complimentary daily drink from the café. The overall atmosphere is quiet and considered, making it equally suited to leisure travellers and those needing a comfortable spot to work. Given the small number of rooms, availability fills quickly, particularly during the dry season between November and February when Chiang Mai is at its most pleasant for outdoor exploration. Prospective guests are advised to book early and to confirm current rates and availability directly via the property's LINE contact, as the website links through to that channel rather than a traditional booking platform.

Visitor Reviews
Happy❤️ Super nice boutique stay! Very small building with only 3 rooms~ I found rly amazing place. Only 3 rooms with 1st floor = cozy cafe. I was trying to find future (Nov/Dec) room availabity but pretty much all the slots were already full. I will definitely come again riion. Cafe staffs were super friendly and interior is artistic and modern.
The room is so aesthetically pleasing! And very clean as well. Everyday we get to choose a free drink and the cafe staffs are always sooo friendly and welcoming. We have no complaints at all, and would highly recommended this accommodation to anyone coming to Chiangmai!
The ice latte was amazing. They have their own unique bean blend which is really worth trying. The price was fair and the environment was excellent with elegant interior design. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. A great place for a peaceful afternoon coffee.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
