Mae Nam Viewpoint
Mae Nam Viewpoint sits on the northern coast of Koh Samui, offering panoramic views across the Mae Nam area, a stretch of beach, and surrounding rock formations. Accessible either by a short climb of around 30 steps from the beach below or via a rougher access road from above, it draws visitors looking for a quick scenic reward without committing to a demanding hike. The viewpoint is well-positioned for photography, particularly of the coastline and the island's interior landscape. The atmosphere is quiet and unhurried, a contrast to the busier parts of the island. Visitors tend to stop briefly to take in the views and photograph the scenery before moving on, making it a natural addition to a broader exploration of the Mae Nam area rather than a standalone half-day destination. Its proximity to Lomprayah pier also makes it a convenient stop for those arriving or departing by ferry. Access is open around the clock, so early morning visits offer cooler temperatures and softer light for photography. The road leading up can be rough, so those driving should take care, and the steps from the beach provide a simpler alternative for those already walking the shoreline. Footwear with a reasonable grip is recommended, particularly during or after rain when surfaces may be slippery.

Visitor Reviews
The river viewpoint you should come to because it is near the Lomprayah pier. You can walk along the beach and go up the stairs and come to see this viewpoint before traveling. Another thing is that it is a very beautiful viewpoint with a pagoda inside. You can take pictures and see the most beautiful view. I recommend you to come here. 🩵
Beautiful viewpoint with a nice panoramic view over the island. It’s a good spot to stop for photos and enjoy the scenery for a short time. Not a place to spend too long, but definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.
If you are on the beach then it's worth a walk up the steps to have a look from he view point. There's only about 30 steps up.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
