Racha noodle and Rice with gravy and red pork
Tucked along Mae Hong Son Rural Road in Pai, this unassuming neighbourhood eatery has earned a devoted following among both locals and travellers for its simple, freshly prepared Thai comfort food served at genuinely local prices. The menu spans noodle soups, rice with gravy, red pork, wonton noodle soup, crispy pork with rice, fried rice, and chicken tom yum — dishes executed with care and consistency that keep visitors coming back daily. The warm, welcoming staff are a recurring highlight in visitor feedback, adding to the relaxed, neighbourhood atmosphere that defines the experience. Dishes arrive fresh and flavourful, and orders are accompanied by a complimentary glass of water and a small chicken soup while the main course is prepared — a thoughtful touch that reflects the generous spirit of the kitchen. Condiments are available at the table, allowing diners to adjust seasoning to their preference in the traditional Thai style. Good to know: the restaurant opens at 7am every day of the week, making it well suited for breakfast before a day of exploring Pai's surrounding scenery. It closes at 3pm, so plan accordingly and aim to arrive on the earlier side to avoid the busy morning rush. As there is no website and this is a local neighbourhood spot, cash is strongly recommended as the primary payment method.

Visitor Reviews
Might be some of my favorite food I've had in Thailand. Simple, fresh and delicious. I ate here everyday in pai. The ladies are also so sweet. The wonton noodle soup and crispy pork w rice were fantastic! Plenty of condiments at the front table to customize your plate.
Very delicious fried rice here! With your order you get a glass for water and they bring a chicken soup while your food cooks. The ladies who work here are very sweet. Will definitely come again.
The Chicken Tom Yum Soup was simply delicious! Great place if you want to taste local food for a cheap price.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
