Tarachan Restaurant
Tarachan Restaurant sits on Chomsin Road in central Hua Hin, within easy walking distance of the Hua Hin Night Market, and has built a strong following among both locals and visitors for its fresh seafood and traditional Thai cooking. Standout dishes noted by diners include fried squid with garlic, tom yum soup made with fresh ingredients, grilled sea prawns, morning glory, and papaya salad — the kind of straightforward, well-executed Thai menu that prioritises quality sourcing over novelty. The restaurant offers both indoor air-conditioned seating and outdoor tables, with staff on hand to set up fans for guests dining outside. The environment is clean and comfortable, making it a practical choice for families, couples, and small groups alike. Portion sizes are described as generous, and the overall experience represents solid value for the standard of food on offer. Good to know: Tarachan is open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, covering both lunch and dinner. A small number of car parking spaces are available directly in front of the restaurant, with additional parking in the alley alongside. Weekend evenings during high season tend to be busy, so arriving earlier in the evening can help secure a table without a long wait. The restaurant's website at tarachan-huahin.com is worth checking for the current menu ahead of your visit.

Visitor Reviews
Very good Thai food in easy walking distance of Hua hin night market and of much higher standard then any restaurants that are in the night market and surrounding area. There is also plenty of free parking at the side. We visited Tarachan on 2 different occasions recently. Both times we were given the option of covered outdoor or indoor air conditiond seating. Staff nice and friendly, Food served quickly and it not only looked good and presented nice. It tasted great. You can tell only quality ingredients are used and that skilled chefs are working on the kitchen. Portions are also of a good size. We had several dishes amongst them deep fried sea bass, Pork leg, beef massaman all were outstanding. I would say it is some of the best food in Hua hin. Its certainly is the best in that price range. I will definatley visit again.
2 adults 1 child (3 y) went for lunch. There are 3-4 car spaces in front of the restaurant and there are more on the alley besides the restaurant. Some dishes are unique. Food is tasty and very fresh. We recommend black ink squid and Tom Yum sea bass. Our child loves pineapple fried rice. There were many foreign customers, and a few waitresses can speak English. The price is cheap. Recommended!
good food. Original Thai taste. Fried Squid with fried galic was so great. Tom Yum was also good fresh ingredient. Grilled sea shrimp was so fresh. You can feel the freshness in your mouth. Wonderful. It may take some times if on weekend. But it's worth to wait. The price is also reasonable.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
