Charoen Krung Kitchen - Thai Street Food Restaurant Hua Hin
Charoen Krung Kitchen is a no-frills, family-style street food restaurant on Phet Kasem Road that delivers straightforward Thai cooking at genuinely local prices. The open kitchen and relaxed setting reflect the honest, unpretentious character of a neighbourhood eatery rather than a tourist-oriented establishment, making it a reliable choice for travellers who want to eat the way residents of Hua Hin actually eat. The menu centres on Thai classics prepared with fresh ingredients, with standout dishes including Pad Thai Yaowarat Moo, papaya somtam, fried rice, and stir-fried vegetables. Spice levels are adjustable from mild to hot, which makes the food accessible to a wide range of palates. The staff are consistently noted for their warmth and friendliness, adding to the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Delivery is also available for those based nearby. Good to know: The restaurant opens daily at 11:30 AM and closes at 8:30 PM, covering both lunch and dinner service. It is closed on Sundays. No website is listed, so walk-in dining is the standard approach. Arriving slightly before peak meal times, particularly for dinner, may mean a quieter and more relaxed experience. The location on Phet Kasem Road is convenient for travellers staying in the central Hua Hin area, with several hotels situated directly opposite or nearby.

Authentic Thai flavors with a warm, homey vibe! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place because it has a simple, unpretentious atmosphere where what you see is exactly what you get, honest, well-prepared dishes, and the staff were all smiles and incredibly accommodating from the moment I walked in, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I went with the classics for my dine-in meal, ordering Pad Thai with perfectly balanced flavors and just the right touch of sweetness in a very generous serving, along with Tom Yum Goong that was bold, authentic, and packed with the spicy-sour kick I was craving, where you can truly taste the richness of the coconut milk in every spoonful, and although the menu features an interesting Chinese-Thai fusion twist that caught my attention, I unfortunately won’t be able to return to try their other signature fusion dishes (Kuay Teow Lod Yawarat & Pad Thai Yawarat), but based on what I had, everything was so far so good and genuinely satisfying, and I even took home Pad See Ew and a Pork Thai Omelette for later, making it a spot I would still recommend to anyone craving authentic Thai flavors without the tourist-trap vibe.
Simple, authentic local Thai food that’s both delicious and affordable. We tried the Pad Thai Yaowarat Moo, which was incredibly tasty, the Somtam papaya salad was fresh with just the right level of spiciness we asked for. The Tom Yum Goong was a little different from what I’m used to, but in the best way… it was fragrant, addictive, and we couldn’t stop slurping the soup. Overall, the prices are very reasonable, and the staffs were also very helpful and friendly. We would definitely visit again!
Very, very good Thai restaurant! Authentic and fresh, with local flavors and very friendly staff. We particularly enjoyed the fried rice here, as well as the stir fried vegetables. This place was our go-to restaurant while in Hua Hin. If desired they do take-away as well. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back in the future!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
