J'AIME by Jean-Michel Lorain at U Sathorn
Brought to Bangkok by celebrated French chef Jean-Michel Lorain, this fine dining restaurant at the prestigious U Sathorn complex represents one of the city's most accomplished expressions of classical French cuisine. The kitchen delivers meticulously crafted dishes rooted in traditional French technique, presented with the kind of visual precision that has impressed both first-time visitors and seasoned fine dining regulars. The open kitchen views add a theatrical dimension to the experience, allowing diners to observe the preparation that goes into each course. The signature multi-course tasting menu with wine pairing is a particular highlight, drawing guests for anniversaries, business dinners, and other special occasions. The dining room strikes a balance between elegance and warmth, with attentive, personalised service consistently noted by visitors. A Sunday lunch buffet option provides a slightly more accessible entry point to the kitchen's cooking, offering the same quality across a curated selection of dishes. Good to know: J'AIME operates Thursday through Sunday only, with dinner service running from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. A Sunday lunch buffet is also available, making it one of the few opportunities for daytime dining. As seating is limited and the restaurant draws a loyal following, advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekend evenings. Smart casual to formal attire suits the atmosphere. The Sathorn location is well-served by taxi and ride-hailing apps, and is a short distance from Lumphini MRT station.

Visitor Reviews
I recently tried out J’AIME for their signature French course dinner, and I have to admit, I felt a bit nervous initially because It was my first time experiencing such a luxurious dinner, and I wasn’t sure what to expect But wow, it was totally worth it! The food was incredible. Each course was fantastically crafted, The tiger prawn appetizer was especially delicious. The dessert was another standout. The chefs clearly have a trick for balancing flavors. It wasn’t overly sweet, but it was a perfect blend with right balance. The staff was super attentive and worked really hard to make sure we had a great time. They were on top of everything, like it was their first day and they wanted to impress. Overall, I had an amazing time and I’m really thankful to the staff for their awesome service. Definitely giving J’AIME BANGKOK a big 5 stars. Thanks again to everyone at J’AIME BANGKOK for making it such a special night!
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of joy. The service by K’Am was absolutely delightful — warm, attentive, and thoughtful, making the entire dining experience even more memorable. Compliments to the chef and the entire team: the food was nothing short of perfection. Each dish was delicately prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. The balance of creativity and refinement truly reflected fine dining at its best. 🌟🌟 🌟 "Cauliflower veloute " from heaven! An unforgettable experience — we’ll certainly return! 🌟
I’ve been to this restaurant several times, but this was my first time trying their Sunday lunch buffet—and I’d definitely recommend it. While the selection isn’t huge, every dish was excellent, more like a fine dining buffet than a typical one. The chef was generous with the caviar add-on. Service was outstanding, especially from K. Amp, who made us feel special and completely at ease—even when we ordered a lot 😆.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
