The Wharf Walking Street
Situated in the Bo Put area of Koh Samui, this walking street market is the go-to evening destination in Fisherman's Village, drawing both tourists and locals into a bustling pedestrian strip of vendor stalls, food stands, and entertainment. The market sits within one of the island's most characterful neighbourhoods, giving it a more relaxed and community-rooted atmosphere than larger commercial night markets found elsewhere in Thailand. Visitors can expect a dense mix of offerings: street food spanning Thai specialties and international cuisines, cocktails and cold drinks, jewellery, clothing, souvenirs, electronics, and general knick-knacks. The food selection is a particular highlight, with an impressive variety of dishes and desserts catering to a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences. Entertainment adds to the atmosphere, making it a genuine evening out rather than a purely transactional shopping stop. Good to know: The market operates in the evenings only, opening at 5:00 PM on most days (4:30 PM on Sundays and Tuesdays) and running until midnight on Fridays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, and 11:30 PM on Sundays and Tuesdays. The market is closed on Thursdays and Saturdays, so it is worth checking the schedule before making the trip. Cash is strongly advised, as many vendors do not accept cards, and prices on goods are typically not displayed, so haggling is expected and part of the experience. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Visitor Reviews
The Walking Street in Fisherman's Village; Entertaining to explore! Pretty much Cash Only. Chocked full of sellers with souvenirs, clothing, knick knacks, electronics. Prices are not posted so haggle to your hearts content and they will give you a "special discount". Good variety of food sellers at the back end towards the road. Pretty much any kind of dish you could want ; also a fresh fruit seller all the way at the far end (towards the 7-11). If you want to sit down at a table to eat your food you need to enter a "beverage zone". They are around the food vendors and watch their tables closely so no stopping to sit for a second to rest; they'll boot you out! Drinks (alcohol or not) are 99thb; we really enjoyed the Samui Sunset. You can also opt to get a pitcher with 2 foot long straws for 300thb. Waking street is open Sunday to Wednesday and Friday. They are Closed on Thursday and Saturday.
I had an outstanding experience at this night market. The variety of food and products available is truly impressive — from local Thai specialties to international options including German and Spanish cuisine. A particular highlight was the offering of more exotic items such as scorpions and insects, which added a unique and adventurous aspect to the visit. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, with something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to try something new or simply enjoy authentic local dishes, this market delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals looking for a diverse culinary experience in a dynamic setting.
One of the best street markets I’ve been to! Wharf Street Market has an amazing selection of food, drinks, and desserts with so many options to choose from. There are also tons of vendors selling jewelry, purses, clothes, shoes, and unique trinkets, so it’s easy to find something you love. The variety and atmosphere make it such a fun place to wander around and check everything out. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
