Ramkhamhaeng Night Market
Tucked along Ramkhamhaeng Road in the Bang Kapi district, this sprawling night market is one of Bangkok's larger halal-friendly markets, drawing a loyal crowd of Muslim travellers, university students, and neighbourhood locals. Halal food stalls and Malay-influenced merchandise form the heart of the offering, though halal and non-halal vendors operate side by side, giving the market broad appeal beyond any single community. Affordable clothing, accessories, groceries, and ready-to-eat street food fill the stalls, and the food selection in particular draws consistent praise from visitors. The atmosphere is firmly local rather than tourist-facing, which keeps prices moderate to budget-friendly and gives the whole experience an unhurried, neighbourhood feel. The market follows an L-shaped layout, meaning a sizeable section is easy to overlook if visitors stick only to the main stretch — walking the full length before doubling back is worth the effort. Practically speaking, the market sits roughly 30 to 45 minutes from central areas such as Pratunam, with travel time varying depending on traffic and whether toll roads are used. Cash is strongly recommended, as most vendors do not accept cards. Arriving in the early evening, once stalls are fully set up, generally offers the widest choice of food and goods.

Visitor Reviews
Must visit place! Halal & non halal stall mix in the same area. Pricewise : Moderate. Many choices. Around 30-45mins from Pratunam area, depends on the traffic and the road that you use (if toll/freeway, more quicker).
The market truly loves up to its name: A place for university students to find all they need! We as tourists garnered some affordable spoils thanks to that, hehe. Imo a hidden gem not yet known to many.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
